I recently had the joy of working with Nina from
Nina Randone Graphic Design on re-doing
a piece of furniture for her.
I was really excited to work with her because I
new she would want something fun & bright.
She chose the fabric & the paint color & I got my little
booty to work. After sanding & prepping I discovered
the wood on the bench was brittle & needed a lot
of repairs, & after working forever on it I knew the
bench would never be perfect, but it would still
be a  beautiful bench in the end….
 The bench before….
& the beautiful after…
So what do you think of this bright bench re-do?
Have you re-uphostered a bench before?
What was your favorite/least favorite part?

I love how this bench turned out & I’m excited to see
it in her home! & before anyone asks, she purchased
the fabric in Sweden & as far as we know
it’s not available here in the US.
I hope each one of you had an amazing weekend.
We sure did, mini road trip yesterday with the hubs,
some shopping, double date night last night, lots
of food & laughs, relaxing sunday, beautiful
Sunday walks with my little fam… It
doesn’t get better then this.
Talk to you soon…

I really like the fabric and paint that she picked out. You did such an awesome job. I haven’t tried to recover a bench yet. I might have to do this soon after seeing this one. : )
Thank you so much Erica! I love the fabric she picked out too.. it’s so bright & fun, I would have never picked this out for myself, so I’m glad I got to work with it for someone else. I hope you are inspired to re-do a bench for yourself
I am loving the bright colors! Wish my entryway was larger or I had a mudroom because that would be such an inviting idea.
Yes! This bench would be an amazing first impression in a home. I also wish I had an entryway as well!
Love the fabric…so bright and cheerful! Now it just needs a little cat curled up on it!
haha thank you so much! & a cat or a shi tzu? haha My dogs love benches by windows!
I love, love, love the fabric!! If there was any problem with the wood, it doesn’t show…beautiful job! I love how it perfectly under the window. I haven’t done a bench yet but may if I find one.
Thank you so much.. I swear the more I sanded the more the it chipped and disintegrated.. So I had to leave the flaws & simply paint over them.. It just gives it more character I think
Just use Kiltz and paint. It won’t let stuff blead through.
Beautiful job!
Thank you Candice
I have one just like it I want to redo…thanks for inspiration.
You are so welcome Sherry! I hope your re-do turns out amazing

It turned out so pretty. I have been on the lookout for a bench to remake. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love the bench transformation. I really like the white with the fun fabric. Updates the bench perfectly. Thanks for sharing at DIYbyDesign.

Love your blog! You did a wonderful job on this chair it looks great!
This is off topic but I wanted to let you know I signed up for Birchbox a few months ago. I learned about it through your blog and upon signing up it asked if I was referred by someone and I didn’t know what to put. All I knew was LizMarie but wasn’t sure if that would do.
This bench looks lovely. If you get a chance link up here:
