DIY Mason Jar Storage

DSC_0854

This week for the Dog days of Winter it was the “Made It” challenge. Well, since we are on
our way of making our master bathroom over, I wanted to make something for that room.
I chose to make some new storage for our cotton balls, Q-tips, & cotton squares. If you have
been following my blog since the beginning you may remember our old mason jar storage {here}.
It’s one of my first posts I ever did & it’s been through a few blog layout moves,
so don’t judge how awful it is if you go and look.

I wanted pretty storage that was also practical so we built this lovely DIY wood box to fit in our
DIY mason jar storage for our cotton balls, Q-tips, Exd…

Now onto how we went about making this…

1. For the mason jars: I took some hardware that I had painted {it was wooden hardware
bought from the craft store that I painted and stenciled a while back} I spray painted
the mason jar lids with the gold spray paint. I tried the rub and buff but it didn’t give
me the finish that I wanted. I superglued the wooden hardware to the lids after
the paint was dry.

2. For the box: We cut the wood sizes that we wanted to make the box { 4 pieces}
& used wood glue and clamps to secure the box together. After the glue was dried
I painted the box a creamy white {Valspars cream in my coffee}. After the paint
was dry, I stenciled “bath” on the box for an added detail.

The best part of this DIY project is how customizable it is. You could change this up
for any room in your home {kitchen, pantry, bathroom, craft room, exd…} You could
customize the hardware, you could customize the paint, add labels, seriously the possibilities
are endless!

What do you think of the mason jar storage? Do you use mason jars for storage in
your home? I would love to see your mason jar storage. Link it {here} on the facebook
page or tag me on instagram {here}.
