Favorite Makeup of January 2013

DSC_0415

I’m a DIY girl at heart, but I still love getting ready everyday. Whether it’s just some mascara,
I love feeling girly & pretty. My makeup routine changes constantly so I wanted to share with you
monthly what I am loving. This month it’s all about perfecting my chapped lips & concealing
blemishes that I got from the dry weather. Some simple eye liner, a spot of blush, & some
mascara & I’m out the door. I don’t use all the products listed below everyday, they are just my
favorites for the month of January….

  1. Pretty lady as always! I just placed a big order from Sephora. I was getting tired of my normal foundation routine! I hope I love everything!

  2. Face oil from Bobbi Brown, hands down my favorite. It smells great, hydrates without leaving an oil slick (despite the name), you can wear it under or over make up. It just gives the skin a soft, diffused glow that you cannot get with make up not to mention is better for your skin. I use it on a lot of my clients (I’m a freelance make up artist).

    • O my goodness Yanira! That face oil sounds amazing, I need to try that.. adding it to my list of things to get. Thank you so much for the suggestion!! It may be in my next months favorites… :) xx

  3. I’m always looking for good make up and tips. Thanks for sharing you favorites. I can’t wait to give some of them a try. Have a great day!

  4. You’re so pretty! Love the products, and you look so cute in the photo with the yellow hat :)

    • awww thanks Holly.. You are too sweet!!! That hat was hiding some pretty dirty hair ;) haha Thank you for your sweet comment.. you made my day … Hope you are having a great day :) xx

  5. Girl! We are so much alike when it comes to makeup! I had to get my makeup case out just to remember a few of my favorites! In fact, I think I am going to create a new “spin off” blog just for beauty crap instead of trying to cram it in my DIY one! Anyway. I also use the Benefit brow kit and really like it. I also just bought their “Speed Brow” and am liking it even more (I have freakishly curly eyebrows, so if I don’t over pluck (like everyone says not to) they look like Gandolf the Great’s) I actually have’t tried Stila, but that’s one of my next conquests. I used to be “brand loyal” and bought MAC and then Bare Minerals (which I don’t like know that I’ve tried so many other products), but now I play around a ton! My favorite skin care is Philosophy, but they recently got rid of the facial wash I liked so I’m trying Dermalogica. I am using Dermablend for my concealer and foundation now, but I still think Bobby Brown is the best and I am loving my new bronzer from Pur. I think I have about 36 makeup brushes and have found the Bobby Brown Concealer and the Merle Norman foundation to be the best. Oh my gosh! That is the longest reply ever…but I guess I’m just a tad passionate…

    • Woops, should have proofread, it should say “not that I’ve tried” and I meant the Bobby Brown concealer brush and the Merle Norman foundation brush.

      • Awesome sauce! I just realized I gave you the wrong address to my blog. I just changed it on the comment form, if you want to take a look (I’m kind of constructing it as we speak, so it’s pretty lame so far…) I blame my ditziness on lack of sleep! But YES, you must try Bobby Brown! Especially, they put a moisturizer in their foundation and it feels so nice when you are putting it on…I definitely miss the feeling of it!

    • ummmm I think you are my new best friend :) All of those products sound amazing! I was using the philosophy face wash with my clarisonic and loved it!!I really have not tried many products from Bobbi Brown and I feel like I’m missing out! I really need to try her products next… and I’ve only tried a few things from dermalogica.. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with me.. I feel like my head is spinning right now and that I need to go find all the products you listed. You are awesome.. thanks so much new bestie ;) xx

  6. you are so pretty! I’ll have to try some of these products when I need replacements!

  7. I have been using vitamin e on my face every night and day, its a GREAT moisturizer and is really starting to make my face glow :)
