Boxwood & A Wood Box

pic 5

As I was digging through some dusty antiques this week at a local flea market, I found
this precious little slatted wooden box. & for a dollar I was sold! I knew it would
look so great with some greenery in our home {I’m so ready to bring spring into our house!}
Let me back track a little though, when I found this little box it wasn’t looking so cute…
{sorry about the cell phone quality before picture, but you get the point ;) }

With some leftover paint from our bedroom makeover, fixing the broken slats,
& a little distressing with a sanding block I had a lovely little wooden basket.

Those boxwood clippings are from my front yard. I love that I can walk out
my front door and get some greenery to bring into our house. & you may have
already known that I am obsessed with boxwood, you can see my DIY boxwood
wreath {here}. Best party is they are free!

Currently this lovely wood box of boxwoods is on our dining room table, but
I’m sure it will be moving soon.

  8. Great job not just walking past that basket – it is super cute now!

  9. Fabulous find. Looks so much better with white.

  10. I love little wooden boxes! Even if I don’t have a place for them — I want them lol. Matter-of-fact, I had one laying around that I just painted last weekend and all of a sudden I am inlove with the way it looks in my bedroom on my dresser! I think I need a bunch of these for my craft/paint room to hold all of my paint brushes, etc…. just an idea!

    • That is such a good idea Jessica! I think that would be such pretty organization! I’m glad you love my little shabby box & that you share the obsession with me :) Have a great weekend!!! xx

  11. You never know what you will find….
    A diamond in the rough!!
    just found your blog and now I’m following…..

  12. Any box or crate with a handle is a friend of mine. This one is darling with the boxwood and the distressed paint finish..

  13. Much much better! Makes for a beautiful centerpiece!

  14. If they only knew how good you could make that crate look, they wouldn’t have given it up! Gorgeous centerpiece!

  15. I need to have better vision. I don’t know that I would have seen the potential of that box in scratched wood. I clicked on your link at the party because I loved the white box. I must develop “future vison” when I see ugly things.

  16. Popping over from Live Laugh Rowe / Linky! LOVE this – such a great idea! :) Claire
