Recently we did our master bedroom makeover, which you can see {here}, & in that makeover
we decided to not have a footboard anymore. I went back and forth with what we were going to do
with the space at the end of our bed for a long time when we decided to add a seating area with
a couple of chairs and an ottoman. This design dilemma we had really got me thinking of all
the possibilities there really are to decorate the foot of your bed & I decided to share 7 of my favorite
ideas with you today. If you have any more ideas share them in the comments below!
1. Baskets:
Whether it’s to store extra blankets, toys, or anything you have in your
bedroom, baskets are stylish storage idea & can look amazing at the end of a bed.
Baskets are beautiful & portable which is a great combination in a small room.
2.Benches:
benches act as a very stylish footboard. If you want extra seating in the room, but
don’t have much space to play around with adding a fun bench to the space can
be a great addition to any small bedroom.
3.Sofas:
If you have a little more room to play around with and you are wanting to
add some seating. Add a sofa to the end of your bed. It can turn any bedroom
into a very cozy retreat. & what a great place to nap with out messing up
your bed linens!
4.Chairs:
Adding a chair or two at the foot of the bed not only adds additional seating,
but can also be portable seating when needed in other spaces & becomes a great
spot to have coffee with your spouse or a friend.
5.Dressers:
A dresser at the foot of your bed can make a huge statement. It is also a great solution
for smaller rooms that do not have much wall space for additional furniture.
6.Trunks:
Trunks are a great accent piece for any room. Adding one to the foot of the
bed can become a beautiful focal point also while serving a purpose for
storage, seating, & surface area.
7.Desks:
Need a work space in your bedroom? Adding a desk to the end
of your bed for addition storage & a place to work could be the solution
for you. Just don’t work too hard that you miss out on your beauty sleep

Love all these!! Our master bedroom isn’t very big, but our furniture is! I tried the dresser at the end of the bed to try & free up some space, but ended up moving it to our closet to get it out of the room all together! I still want a little something at the end of the bed, I just don’t have room for much! I’m thinking a little bench may do the trick!

All great ideas. There’s something for everyone here depending on how much room they have. I think a bench is my favourite, great little spot to sit and put your socks or slippers on as well!

My fiance is moving into our future home next month and I am so excited because our room is going to have so much space so this is definitely something I am looking forward to being able to do. I love the idea of a basket or a bench at the foot of the bed! I have a quick question, in the category of dressers at the end of the bed where did the second picture come from? I was hoping it was on someones blog so I can look at more of the stuff in that room because I am loving everything about it!! Thanks girl!

Never thought of the dresser at the end. THat’s a great idea! I like the bench too…or even the chairs like you have in your room! The only problem with no footboard, is our comforter is constantly falling down the bed. That’s the only downside. Maybe a dresser or bench there would help!
good thought! or you could even have a bench with a footboard if you have the space. Our chairs help hold our comforter up so I imagine that a bench or dresser would for sure help a lot. I hope one day to pull a dresser off at the foot of our bed
I put a bench at the foot of the bed in our guest room. Unfortunately, our master bedroom doesn’t have the space to do anything at the foot of the bed!

There are many inspiration here, not only item to be placed on the foot of the bed. What caught my eyes is the gilded thick picture frame used as bed headboard. I love it ! Hopefully one day I can incorporate this in our new master bedroom. Great post ! Thank you so much!
