We all have those moments no matter what we are doing where we have a block. Writers block,
decorators block, creative block, & so on and so on. In these times we need to be inspired.
When I have decorators or DIY block I like going to stores to get inspired,
browsing pinterest, checking out my favorite blogs, but one of my favorites is being
inspired by magazines. I love flipping through the pages, reading them in the bath, & there is
just something about having a hard copy of a magazine in your hands that is so inspiring.

I always keep a stack of magazines around like pottery barn,
Better Homes & Gardens, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Country Living, exd.
I love browsing through these magazines to get inspired & now these magazines have a lovely
place to sit in our home on on display & ready to be browsed through. I have found that if I have
them out in the open I am more likely to read them as opposed to them being tucked away some
where & forgetting about them. Also by seeing them out in the open they can become part of your
home decor with their beautiful covers like this pottery barn cover in the photos.
With a wire basket from TJ Maxx {They always seem to have great baskets}
an off white paint chip card, & some alphabet stamps which you can purchase
for $5 {Here} I created a lovely little home for my inpsirational
magazines. For the label I cut out an off white paint chip I had into
the size of the opening on the basket. & then I simply stamped with my
mini alphabet rubber stamps with the Staz on ink {my favorite stamping ink}.
The reason I used the off white color chip for the label was because first of
all I had it lying around & second so the label would not be stark white
like a normal sheet of paper. It worked really well!
This post may be a sneak peek at another change in our living room. I am
So excited to share the changes in our living room with you. For now you can
see some small changes in the living room {here}. I hope you are all having
a great week. For what I have been up to you can find me on instagram {here}
and facebook {here}. Where do you store your magazines? Do you go
to magazines for inspiration? What are you favorite magazines?

I keep my decorating magazines in a basket too. I found a wonderful basket at a thrift store that is round and tapered out at the top so they fit perfect and it allows them to kind of fan out…
Loving how yours look on the shelf. The tag ads a nice touch. That shelf looks pretty cool too.
I love that you found your basket at a thrift store, what a great find! I’m sure it’s beautiful. Thank you so much more on that shelf later
I want some of those type of wire baskets for my craft room! I haven’t checked TJ Maxx, but I most def will =) I love the idea of storing “inspiration” magazines in there too! Great idea!
Yes for sure go look there Brittany! I hope you find some
& yes these baskets are great for so much, but I do love them for magazine storage too
Thanks for your sweet comment! xx
i love it ….I love it…..I love it!……oh and did I mention I love it!
the basket so works, I am off this weekend to hunt for something similar.
Bec x
Yay! So glad you love it Bec! I hope you find something just like this basket or even better
I do the same! I even just purchased those stamps last week! So crazy lol
That is so funny Allison! Great minds
Thanks for the inspiration! Currently my magazines (which i LOVE to look through) are stacked in my book shelf. Once the stack(s) become out of control I edit each magazine and cut out any article or picture that i want to save and store in my inspiration notebook (which by the way needs editing). After seeing your wire basket system makes me realize i really need to be a bit more stylish my magazine storage. By the way, I love your $5 fabulous chair. I think you could add two zeros to that price now!!
Wow thank you soooo much Maria.. I do love that chair so much, it’s so cozy! & seriously that’s what I did before I put them in baskets. They were tucked away in a closet and I would edit them once in a while, I love that they are nicely stored now because I actually read them more now that they are out and organized.. it’s nice and refreshing! Thank you for your sweet comment
What would you suggest since some of my inspiration magazine’s aren’t exactly “show off” friendly. I am a photographer, and do some boudoir work, so some of my inspiration comes from *those* magazines if you know what I’m sayin LOL.
haha I would say maybe tucked away in a drawer or some baskets that are out of reach of littles
lol
Looks great doll! I use a similar antique milk crate… I love this idea so that I can have more storage!!
ooo I bet your antique milk crate is wonderful! & yes these work so good for pretty storage. Thank you for sharing!
I love keeping magazines around for the great color and beautiful decor. Your wire baskets are just the right touch!

Thank you Jamie.. I’m a little obsessed with these baskets.. I want maybe 10 more… is that bad? haha
love this wood style.
It’s a combination of vintage and the fashion thing. Love it!
Thank you Stephanie!!
I am a magazine girl. I love Pinterest and I love blogs. But, magazines are my go-to for inspiration! And, they look so pretty around the house! Life to the full, Melissa
I agree with everything Melissa! So very true!
I love to flip through magazines for inspiration, too. The basket is fabulous!! I love TJ Maxx!!
Ruth
I’m glad I’m not the only one, sometimes a hard copy of inspiration is the best!
