NC Rental – Guest Bedroom First Look

As many of you know a week ago my parents came to visit us in North Carolina. They were our first guests in our new home so the day before they came {I’m a procrastinator what can I say?} I whipped together  the guest room so that they would have a lovely space to stay. This room I have a few plans for as far as decorating the walls and getting a new dresser, changing out lamps, & of course moving some decor around. For now, this is what the space looks like a couple weeks after moving in to our rental.

This room is quite small, but it does have one massive closet & a lovely little view of the historic homes on the street below. I found that headboard in a dumpster & used items from our last middle guest bedroom to throw it all together before my parents got here. Not bad huh? I’m excited to create some art for the walls & find a new dresser for the space. I’m also thinking a rug, putting the bed skirt on, & also some curtains! I always  Let me know what you think of the space & what you would do in the comments below, find me on Facebook, or chat with me on Instagram.

Come check out the first look at the other rooms in our home!

  1. Fantastic job, I love the way you accessories and the neutral color palette you use, perfect for when you want to add ANY pop of color. Hope you enjoy your remaining time in NB in your cute little rental. I love the historic district, so beautiful!

What color is the paint in your guest room? It’s the most perfect beige!

  5. Your house is gorgeous and I love this room, any guest would be happy to stay here and a rug by the bed would be nice and I love curtains in a bed room to soften the window even if they are just light ones.

  6. Liz, this room is so inspiring to me! We are currently renting as well, and I just can’t seem to find the motivation to put a ton of effort into styling each room, knowing that our time here is only temporary. I’d also LOVE to see a post dedicated to all the things you need to do to your rental before moving out (I think I have a phobia about patching holes, so I’m afraid to hang things up!) Thanks for everything lovely that you share!

  7. I can’t believe you just threw this together! You have some really great pieces (and what I would give to find a headboard like that in the trash…)

  8. What a great job on such a time crunch!!!! Love it!

  9. Very cute! I love how clean and simple it is. Great job for whipping it together so quick! ;)

  10. Wow, great find! You got the head rail from a dumpster. I’m impressed. You put the room together nicely for the time you had. HAHA
