I have had this antique desk in my garage for sometime now. It was graciously given to me by one of my dear friends Rachael She had used it as a photo prop & no longer needed it. The chair had about 4 paint jobs on it before I got my hands on it, & I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it until the other day I got motivated to give it a new life…
To make the top of the desk a chalkboard I simply painted on chalkboard paint that I bought from Lowes. I didn’t tape off the edges because I wasn’t too worried about it being perfect to get that antiquated look. To get the antiqued white look I used an old white & used a dark stain wax over top of the paint.
& there you have it, the cutest little wooden antique desk on the planet! It turned out just as I pictured it. & guess what!?! This piece will be in my new location that I will be announcing this week sometime on the facebook page {here} Don’t miss the announcement, Go and “like” the page so you don’t miss out on anything. Also, do you want to see more of my “real life”
pictures & also some DIY stuff, furniture, & the people & dogs in my life? Then go follow me on Instagram {lizmariegalvan} I am pretty much obsessed 😉
I see these desks at yard sales all the time. I’m snatching the next one I see and copying yours. I love it!
This was really great to read. Thank you!
