I was asked this week to make some
menu boards for a local business.
{The Wild Cupcake & Rebecca’s.. check them out}
They wanted them to be shabby chic,
eclectic, & useful.
Here is what I came up with…
Of course I didn’t charge extra for my extra sloppy handwriting
haha. That comes free of charge.
This was a pretty simple project…
Chalkboard Window DIY:
-Knock out the glass in the window {safely!}
-Have boards cut to the size of the window
-Paint the boards with chalkboard paint
-Paint the window frames
-Staple {or glue} the chalkboards to the back of the window frames
Very simple.
For the frames I simply used a stain over the paint to give it
an extra “dirty” shabby chic look.
Also the boards surface I used was not an even
surface, but it went with the look I was going for.
You can choose your boards according to your needs.
What do you think? Don’t you love their color choice?
I was shocked when they said “pink” & I had fun
working with a new color & making these for their store.
What have you made with chalkboard paint lately?
Stay tuned for more DIY projects for this local business &
some pretty awesome before & afters.
