I am currently re-doing our lovely little laundry
room & I am going to be revealing it this
week here on the blog!
I first wanted to show you a few projects that
I have been working on for the small space.
First things first is the lighting…
How do you like my new wire basket light? I’m pretty obsessed with the industrial
look & feel of this piece & it’s perfect for this little laundry room!
Before in our laundry room we had this simple builder grade flush mount
that was one of the least exciting things in our house. These lights
are scattered through our house at the moment & I’m in the process
of changing them out finally!
What I did to make the light…
1. I cut a hole in the bottom of the wire basket from Tuesday Morning {$6} with wire cutters.
2. I bought a ceiling fixture at Lowes {$7} to use the canopy out of
because the flush mount that was there did not have the right size canopy
3. I also bought a socket extender at Lowes {$2} to attach the basket to the canopy.
4. Attach the canopy to the ceiling, hold wire basket up to the canopy,
screw in socket extender to hold the basket onto the canopy, put light bulb in,
Turn light on, & ENJOY YOUR NEW WIRE BASKET LIGHT!
I have debated painting the socket extender black & also the canopy,
but I kind of love the antique brass finish of the canopy & the industrial look
that the socket extender gives the light.
I am so tempted to show you the whole room right now, because this light
just adds to the charm! but I am going to show some self control &
wait to show you just a few more days 😉
All in all this light fixture cost me $15 to make!
I can’t believe for that amount of money, I made such
a charming little light.
How do you like my new wire basket light??
Are you excited for the room reveal?
What kind of light fixtures have you made lately?
I would love to hear what you have to say.. share your
thoughts & comments below or on the Facebook page {here}
Talk to you soon..
