So today was day one of the GMC Treasure Hunt Road Trip… & it has been amazing already! I am currently writing this post after being awake since 3am, but I had to share the day with you. Such a crazy whirlwind. Up at 3:30am, 2 plane rides, meeting up with a bunch of new people that I didn’t know before today, driving across Michigan, shopping at habitat for humanity, eating amazing food at some nice resteraunts, all this with no caffeine, just pure adrenaline & laughter. You may be wondering what the heck I am talking about if you missed the updates on my Instagram & Facebook. No worries. Basically what is going on is GMC invited 6 bloggers to fly to Detroit, Michigan & pick up some brand new GMC Acadia Denalis to travel down the largest yard sale in the world {127 sale} & pick up treasures to decorate a house for habitat for humanity at the end of our trip on Sunday. Holy crap. Seriously, this trip has been amazing so far and it’s only day 1. First of all because I got to travel to my home state {Go blue!!!!} even though I am only in Michigan for less than 24 hours it was so fun to be here. Second of all because I have met so many amazing people today!! I was so nervous to just fly to Detroit and meet up with a bunch of people I didn’t know… but o my. These bloggers & GMC employees are some of the greatest people I have ever met. They are all so passionate about what they do & it makes me love what I do even more. So todays updates on the blog are all brought to you by instagram…
Morning bathroom pictures in the Atlanta airport? Why not? haha seriously I am really shocked that I even remembered putting my pants on this morning. I am not a morning person… have I mentioned that?
After landing in Detroit we ate lunch at the Westin hotel inside the airport. Amazing food & lots of laughs. It’s so crazy after 5 minutes of meeting everyone you are friends with tons in common. Probably one of my favorite things in life.
O, I bet you are wondering who the other bloggers that I am with are! Well…..
Kirsten from Simply Grove
Carissa from Good & Crazy
Courtney from French Country Cottage {She’s my car buddy, yay!}
Christine from The DIY Dreamer
Jocie from One Project Closer The better half
& little me!
Our first stop on the trip was Habitat for Humanity in Ann Arbor Michigan & our only stop of the day before dinner & our hotel tonight. We all found some great treasures that most they donated to us for the cause.. how amazing & I could have cried at their generosity to us & the family receiving the home that we are decorating.
These treasures were found by Kirsten from @Simplygrove. Isn’t that chair amazing? I found an antique trunk that I am in love with!
So one last thing tonight & I need your help! I got picked to makeover the boys room!!! One boy is 13 and the other is 8. It’s a very small room, but I would love your suggestions! Art work, headboards, dressers, bedding, I want your input. What do you think I should do? They love sports mainly football, video games, they are your average little boy & I want to give them an amazing room that they will love. Leave your suggestion below, on my facebook, or on my instagram! Ps. Tomorrow we start out on the longest yard sale in the world & will end up in Kentucky tomorrow night to sleep. I’m excited to find some treasures!
