You thought the painting pumpkin escapade was over? Nope! I felt like adding a few more pumpkins onto our fall porch before halloween so I got some paint out & came up with a a little crazy messy plan to make some cute pumpkins even cuter. You can see my first painted pumpkins of the season {here} & our fall porch from a few weeks ago {here}. Here are my DIY ombre paint dipped pumpkins that re now making our porch a little more cheerful…
I’m serious when I say this method is really easy. I first painted the pumpkins with Behr pure white in flat. That part took two coats, you could also spray paint them, but I like painting with a brush better. After the white paint was dry, I took the first sample pot of paint and dumped it into a bowl that would fit all of my pumpkins. When the first color was in I dipped the first pumpkin in the paint and moved the pumpkin around randomly around in no particular way. If you are ocd, this project may be hard on you because the paint has a mind of it’s own, but I’m sure you will find a way to make it perfect 😉 I liked the randomness of how each pumpkin came out & I hope you do too! I repeated these steps for all three pumpkins.
Now of course you can choose any colors that you want & there are a million possibilities. I chose these lovely greens from Behr, because the minute I saw them, I had to do something fun with them. Now I want to paint something else green! Watch out. What do you think of my paint dipped pumpkins? Have you painted pumpkins before? What did you do? I would love to see them or hear about them…. find me on Facebook, Instagram, & as always, leave a comment below!
