As many of you know I had the awesome opportunity this week to travel to Lake Tahoe with GMC to experience their Denali Dream Drive. To say this experience was anything less than amazing would be a complete lie. From the scenery, to the people, to the Denalis, to the dream home, & more, I had the greatest three day trip to Tahoe I could have asked for. & I feel so blessed to have been able to attend.

Day one was Monday. That day was mostly a travel day from North Carolina all the way to Reno Nevada. From the airport it was about an hour drive to our resort in Lake Tahoe. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe which was so beautiful & accommodating. When I go back & visit Lake Tahoe they will be at the top of my list of places to stay. Our resort had a few restaurants, a starbucks, a casino, a spa, heated pools, & my view of the mountains from my room was stunning! The little town we were in was so cute & quaint I wish we would have had more time to explore the shops in the area & sight see the beautiful scenery a little more & the stunning real estate around the lake. After I got to the resort I washed up from my flight & then headed down to the lobby to meet all of the other talented people who were also on the trip. Right when we all gathered in the lobby I could tell we were going to have an amazing time together. Dinner that night was right at the resort & was a great way to start off the trip. Delicious food & lots of laughs getting to know everyone. We all have such different personalities that the mix was perfect. & as you know from my last trip with GMC, the GMC team is always AMAZING & so fun.

Tuesday morning was lovely. I woke up to the view of the mountains & the pool area out of my room. So perfect! I ate a lovely breakfast looking out at that beautiful scenery, met up with the crew, & got acquainted with our GMC denalis & headed up the mountains to the 2014 HGTV Dream Home. I got to be the first driver up the mountain & I drove the GMC Terrain Denali & it was perfect for me! It’s a smaller SUV so I felt really comfortable & driving over ice & snow didn’t even scare me because of all the control & the all wheel drive made me feel extra secure. Also driving on mountains was easier because it has automatic grade breaking for going down the mountain & it has hill start break assist which helps when breaking on an up-hill. So basically the terrain was perfect for me to drive up the mountain to see the house. & I looked pretty cute driving it too 😉 I kid, I kid!! No, but really I love GMC as a company & their product amazes me every time I experience them.

Before we entered the HGTV Dream Home we got to tour the all new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali. As a designer I had such a great appreciation for the design of the vehicle. It has real poplar wood accents on the inside. To have actual real wood accents in a vehicles is so amazing to me & you can really tell much craftsmanship went into designing the Yukon. I really enjoyed comparing the interior design of homes to the the interior design Yukon. Along with the poplar wood in the vehicle there is aluminum accents which I loved as well. Besides all of the beautiful design accents in the vehicle the safety features made me want to purchase the vehicle that day. It has forward collision alert {Hello, I want that!} Lane departure warning {Need!} & crash imminent breaking, side blind zone alert, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, & front & rear park assist. So basically it can almost drive itself 😉 haha I just love all of the safety and design features & I feel like it’s the perfect vehicle for me. & of course it features OnStar for those times you need assistance.

Hi!
I am an interior designer in SF looking for a console similar to the one pictured above in your post of the HGTV Dream Home in Tahoe
Do you happen to know where the navy blue console is from?
Thank you!
