While we were moving into our new home we were so amazed at how much stuff we actually had. I think that happens to everyone when they move. Well, that didn’t stop me from picking up lovely junk on the side of the road while we were moving! On one of my trips back and forth from the old house to the new house I spotted a lovely antique ladder with beautiful chippy paint. I immediately pulled over and loaded it into the jeep. Most people would call that crazy, but I call it thrifty & now I have the ladder of my dreams! It’s funny because Mr. LMB didn’t even flinch, I guess after being together for a decade he just expects these kinds of things. I bet if I didn’t pull over he would have checked my temperature. Anyways, I really didn’t have a place for the ladder in the new house just yet, so I put it int he corner of our living room holding some of our throws.
Just seeing all of the chippy paint and different colors really makes me think what kind of projects this ladder has been used for. The layers are beautiful! Because I know people will wonder, the two solid blankets are from Ikea & the afghan is vintage. The two pots are from Target as well as the basket. This room is our living room & ti’s not quite decorated yet, but I will be showing how it looks two weeks after moving in very soon!
What do you think of our lovely antique blanket ladder? Not sure it will be staying here, but for now I think it looks lovely & it makes me pretty happy every time I look at it. Do you have a ladder in your home? What do you use yours as? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, or chat with me on Instagram!
Hi Liz, I first want to say I love all your decor! I just recently started following you on Instagram I have so enjoyed looking at all your post.
I also have a very old ladder that I ran across a few years ago. I have used it over the years for books, plants and then just a conversation piece standing alone. I can’t believe I never thought to use for some of my throws. My question I have is….. Did you happen to use a sealer on your, like Polyurethane? My ladder has many layers of paint and colors. I didn’t know if I should seal it since there will be throws on the piece and since it has all the chips of paint on it.
I would love to get your opinion……
Thanks in advance, Dana
