As many of you know we are all moved into our new home here in NC. We officially closed on our old house yesterday! I had a few tears because that chapter of our lives is over & the house we built together four years ago is no longer ours. At the same time we are feeling complete freedom. Our home was our only debt that we had since we have never had student loans, our cars have been payed off, & we do not have credit cards. Life at the rental has been amazing. It has changed our lives for the better. There is no stress, we take time to sit on the porch and relax, I have read a book [prior to this I was all about audio books because I ‘didn’t have time’], life is sweet. Life is simple. We are loving the downtown life & our lovely historic 1800’s rental. I think our life has changed so much because we were stuck in a rut in the last house for so long, we knew that we were leaving for a year and a half, we knew we had to put the house up for sale, and we felt stuck. We felt like our house wasn’t ours a year before we even put it on the market. It’s like that weight has been lifted off our shoulders. Things are new, fresh, & we are ready for this lovely adventure we are on. I am hoping the next 6 months here, our last 6 months here in NC, go by really slow so we can soak in this sweet life one day at a time.
As we moved in to the house this past weekend we set up and unpacked as we loaded stuff into the house. That has made settling in & making the rental our home really quickly. Today I wanted to take you on a tour of the sitting room as it looked like today. This room is located at the front of the house & connects to the office & the dining room. There is a lot of things I want to change/add, but you know what? I want to stop waiting for things to be perfect to show them here on the blog, because life isn’t perfect right? & the imperfections are what makes it beautiful. I am reading The Nesting Place this week & in the nester’s words, “Done is better than perfect”. So here is the front room “done” today after moving in on Sunday.
Let’s first take a look at the rental sitting room before we moved in…
There is the sitting room as it looked today. What do you think of it so far? I really want to paint the coffee table {close up there is a lot of damage because it was sitting in our garage for two years}, & even in some of these photos things were being switched up & you all know me, things will always be changing & that’s what makes it fun! Our rental is feeling more like home everyday & we are loving it! What do you think of our house so far? Let me know in the comments below & be sure to find me on Instagram & Facebook for behind the scenes looks at our new house.
Amazing! Thhis blog looks jhst like my old one! It’s oon a completely diffedrent topic but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Great choice
of colors!
You can definitely see your skills within the
article you write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe.
At all times go after your heart.
Could you please share the wall paint colors please. I love this room. I love all the rooms. All room colors would be great. I would buy the paint today and get started. Thank you!
