Mosquitos are going to be the death of me this summer. Is it just me or are they just awful this year? Our lovely brick patio here in NC has been infested with mosquitos until last night when we got so fed up with them that Mr. LMB & I decided to spray the entire area with mosquito lawn spray at midnight in our pajamas. Have I told you how much I love married life? Anyways, to my surprise when I went in our backyard this afternoon it was basically mosquito free… I hear angels singing! It seems like ever since we have lived in our new rental downtown we haven’t been able to really enjoy our patio because of the pesky bugs. Until today. Since mother nature was finally allowing me out in my backyard today I decided to style our Polywood bar table for summer just in time for bbq’s & guests.
I kept the table pretty simple because it’s a smaller pub table & we need room for food. Always leave room for lots of food. I used a window as a table runner, & placed my artichoke pot in the middle of the table with some branches in it from our back patio. The dishes are from the plastic Threshold line at Target & those napkins are actually towels that I picked up from Target as well. Leaves room for lots of big messes from yummy food. The table & chairs are from Polywood like our bench & chairs {here}. The cushions are also from Polywood as well in the color sesame. I love that they are neutral so I can always switch things up in the back. I’m obsessed with the fact that the furniture is made from recycled material & is very low maintenance. I need that in this hot, humid, forest of a backyard we have. I made the light fixture by wrapping string lights from Target around an outdoor light fixture to create a chandelier perfect for over our table. Of course a citronella candle is a staple to any outdoor summer patio table as well.
Cheers to a pretty day outside on the patio with no bugs! Here’s to hoping they stay away. Do you have any mosquito remedies? Please share! I love our patio & I really wish that it wasn’t just our rental & that this was our backyard forever {minus mosquitos}. It’s almost like a little secret garden. What do you think of our Summer patio tablescape? Want to come over and enjoy a mosquito free coffee date with me back here? Bring a citronella candle with you & come on over!
