First I want to say a HUGE thank you for all of the sweet comments on yesterday’s post {here}. You guys are amazing & truly lift my spirits daily! I feel like since I started this blog a couple of years ago there has been a few posts where I talk about my friends moving away. I guess this is what happens when you are a military wife. You become best friends with other military wives & share a strong bond like none other, but there always comes a time when we have to move away from each other when our husbands change jobs or change locations. It’s rough. These friendships are so strong because we are literally each others families when our husbands are deployed, we see each other through having babies away from home, being away from family, tears, heartache, laughter, good times, literally through it all. The friendships you make as a military wife are like no other. & sadly I’m about to have to say goodbye to another one of my best friends very soon.
Christine & I have seen each other through deployments, new babies, miscarriages, hard times, good times, & lots of laughter. I have been a part of her oldest son’s life since he was born. She’s leaving in a month to live in Japan. It makes me sick to my stomach that she will no longer be here in North Carolina with me my last few months here. It makes me sad that I won’t be able to squeeze her two boys everyday, she won’t be able to come over for coffee in the morning, & our Target dates will be extra lonely with out her. She means so much to me & so does our friendship so I know it’s not goodbye.. just a see you later. Want to know how sweet she is & how much she loves her boys? She got the news that they were moving to Japan right after she was preggo & knew they were moving right after the baby was born, but still she wanted the baby to have a nursery in this house before they left even if he wouldn’t be using it. So she whipped together a temporary little nursery for baby Beckett & it’s adorable just like him. She’s not only creative when making jewelry for her Etsy shop, but everything else she touches too. We had fun styling & playing around with fun nursery things the other day & I took a few photos for her to remember the space by. This is a shared gray nursery for the baby & her oldest who is three & I thought the way the room transformed into a shared nursery was lovely. The space wasn’t necessarily “complete” because it was only temporary & they were moving, but if you ask me, I think it turned out pretty cute…
I could snuggle this baby all day. Seriously look at him! What do you think of the shared nursery? I love that the pottery barn finish of the crib and the bed really make the space work. All the shades of gray real tie everything together & this would work great for a gender neutral space as well! They will be packing up this room in the next couple of weeks & I don’t even want to talk about it. Praying for my friend & her cute little family as they go on this awesome new adventure to Japan. I hope it brings them joy & lots of new blessings. What do you think of the gray shared nursery? What is your favorite part?
