I have been wanting to create some kind of pineapple art for our rental for a long time now, but never really had any inspiration for some until last week when we started our sunroom makeover. Last week I shared the door makeover [here] & I knew a pineapple would pair perfectly with our new mint door. & don’t worry, I will be revealing our tiny sunroom this week.
This DIY pineapple art literally took me only 20 minutes to make & anyone can do it. I had some leftover scrap barn wood lying around that was begging to be used so I used a small piece of the barn wood, Behr silver mist paint, & a stencil I made with my Silhouette Cameo.
I found this pineapple art on my silhouette & printed it off using the adhesive vinyl. When the pineapple was printed out, I peeled off the stencil part of the pineapple & placed it on the barn wood. I then painted over the stencil using the gray paint from Behr only doing one coat & free handing the outline of the pineapple. After it was dry I peeled the sticker up & revealed some quirky pineapple art!
I also gave this little plant stand a makeover. This poor plant stand was sitting in the sunroom when we moved in & instead of throwing it away I decided to give it a quick five minute makeover to fit into the little room. I simply dry brushed the plant stand with a small amount of metallic gold paint to give it an aged gold look.
I think these little details make this small place so happy & have helped with this basically free makeover in our rental. A room makeover for free? I’ll be sharing the details on the reveal post later this week so stay tuned for that. What do you think of the pineapple art & the plant stand makeover? Do you have a silhouette machine? What do you usually create with yours? I’m trying to use mine more! Leave me a comment below, find me on Facebook, or chat with me on Instagram! xx
