One of the main parts of my everyday routine is my coffee time. Usually it starts in the morning with a cup of hot joe to wake me up. Throughout the day I have a cup here and there when I need to take a break and reward myself. A cup of coffee to me is a moment to relax amongst the chaos of the day no matter what is going on. Coffee has been a favorite past time of mine since I was sixteen working as a barista in local coffee shops in Michigan. Part of this was coming up with new coffee recipes that helped my love for coffee grow. One of the things that has made every cup of coffee more exciting for me is adding coffee syrups to the mix. Of course I use my regular half & half creamer, but adding flavored syrups has really amped up my coffee time and made creating new recipes fun!
I wanted to share one of the simplest recipes that I use almost every day during my beloved coffee time. This is actually the recipe that I used to get Mr. LMB to like coffee, so it must be good. There are a million different variations of this recipe so don’t feel stuck if you need to substitute for certain ingredients. If you are using the Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups, you won’t be disappointed with whatever combination you come up with. Since 1878, Tate+Lyle® has been a trusted sweetener brand in the U.K. Their pure cane sugars have graced the finest tables in the British Isles and now some of their sugars and syrups are available in the US. Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups come in three flavors: Vanilla Pure Cane Syrup, Hazelnut Pure Cane Syrup, and Caramel Pure Cane Syrup. The syrups are the perfect way to enjoy a delicious hot or cold beverage customized to your taste, anytime. They are also Fairtrade certified. Brilliant! To make the DIY delicious coffee creamer:
– 1 cup half & half
– 1 cup almond milk
– 4 tbsp. Tate+Lyle® Caramel Pure Cane Syrup
– 4 tbsp. Tate+Lyle® Vanilla Pure Cane Syrup
– 1 tbsp. cinnamon
You can store the extra creamer in a mason jar or right in the creamer dish in the refrigerator. I always use the expiration date on the half & half & almond milk as an expiration guide on the creamer. Just mix all of the ingredients together & enjoy! The vanilla and caramel add a velvety smooth flavor and sweet aroma, and they are the perfect way to reward yourself with coffeehouse flavor, anytime.
Some days I like my coffee sweet and some days I like it less sweet. I like the versatility I have with the syrups & all the different combination options I have right on my very own coffee cart. Having the syrups is good on the budget too because I’m less tempted to hit up my local coffee shop when I have all of this right at my fingertips.
Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups can be found in the sugars aisle at Walmart and other fine retailers. You can connect with Tate+Lyle® Gourmet Beverage Syrups on: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. You can also sign up for the Tate+Lyle® email newsletter here.

A creamer combo I really like is:
l C almond milk
l C whipping cream or half and half
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
5 T maple syrup
Put a jar with lid and shake until mixed well.
Tweak according to individual tastes.
This is really good used in not only coffee, but in a cup of heated almond milk. Nice near bedtime and no caffeine.
OH MY that sounds delicious!!! Thank you so much for sharing.. I will be trying that one this week!! xx
Oh my gosh, I love making homemade creamers! The best one I have ever made tastes like strudel cake!

1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 pinch nutmeg
Put in a jar and shake
I like to put milk and sugar free caramel syrup (Torani) in my electric frother and pour it on top of my coffee. Then if I am feeling festive I sprinkle pumpkin pie seasoning on top or drizzle caramel sauce on top.

I add some cream and apple spice to my coffee!
Since my husband is a hobby sugarmaker I love just plain maple syrup in my coffee. But lately I’ve been adding a good quality cocoa mix to warmed vanilla almond milk. The cocoa powder stays suspended in the almond milk, unlike cow’s milk. It’s perfect just before bed.
I like to add cinnamon!!
Half and half plus maple syrup.
Not a creamer, but similar: I love making homemade steamers, so I’d use some vanilla syrup in them! 🙂

My family puts hot cocoa powder in our hot coffee, and it taste like a mocha coffee.
I don’t usually put creamer in my coffee. That fact caused some confusion last week when I left my mug in a coworker’s truck and she offered to return it the next day with her own home roasted brew. She started the phone call asking if I like peppermint mocha creamer. Frankly, I’m not a fan of any member of the mint family, and told her that. So she wasn’t going to give me the coffee because she couldn’t imagine drinking coffee without creamer!
I’ll be boring and say that with the gift card, I’d buy some groceries and household items.
Everything tastes better with cinnamon to me especially for fall. My favorite homemade creamer recipe contains mainly cinnamon extract and vanilla extract , plus some almond milk.

Heavy cream plus a splash of vanilla extract and just a pinch of cardamom adds quite a fun flavor!
I like to add a bit of nutella to my coffee on occasion. If the coffee is hot enough and you put the nutella in first and spread it a bit in the cup/mug then when you stir, it mostly dissolves and make a delicious concoction.

When I’m out of flavored creamer and/or flavored syrup, I use half & half and a dash of Amaretto di Saronno. The amaretto flavor is heavenly, and there’s not enough alcohol to make any difference. 🙂

I don’t drink coffee. But my husband does. He likes to add cinnamon to his coffee for a little pick me up.
If you have a stick blender, you can easily make this lower fat version:
1/2 C skim milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp allspice
2 tbsp. stevia based sweetener (or use whatever sweetener you prefer)
use the stick blender to whip it up to almost whipped cream texture. You’ll want to make this fresh unless you want to blend it each morning before use. I use half the recipe for the family’s use for two days (three people).
I add cinnamon.
I don’t know any recipes but I do love pumpkin spice creamer and will have to look up a recipe

I’m sort of new at these fancy coffees, and I’ve only had caramel added to mine. I actually need some recipes myself.
I make my own peppermint mocha creamer by taking regular creamer, adding a drop or two of peppermint extract and a couple tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa. Then just a dab (or a few) of sugar. And boom! Pure bliss!
