Do you ever see a piece of furniture at the thrift store or the side of the road & just picture right away what color it should be painted? That happened to me a few weeks ago when I spotted this lovely little leggy table at a local antique shop & I just knew it had to be red for the holidays. A red Christmas table to be exact. I know our house is usually mainly neutral, but I wanted to add pops of red to our rental for Christmas to give that rustic holiday cottage vibe.
This happy little red table makes me so happy. It sits right outside of our office in the front sitting room. I think it’s now the happiest little corner in our Rental. The table was in pretty good condition when I found it, but I think it just needed a new life…
I used the color “Antique Red” by Behr & it’s one of my new favorite colors. I love how festive it is while still being a little muted. If red can be muted. I also ended up using this color in more of our holiday decor as well that you will see later.
Our happy little red table is just one corner of our holiday decor. I will be revealing our Christmas rental slowly but surely in the next couple of weeks. As many of you know we are moving out of our rental next week to our home in Michigan {which I will be decorating for christmas too most likely… fun!} anyways I couldn’t leave this house without decorating it for the holidays & I can’t wait to share with you the full tour!
I have a little giveaway for you today so that you can use paint to bring in the holidays in your home too! Use the rafflecopter below to enter to win!

The Antique Red is the perfect POP of color. Beautiful!
Oh my goodness, completely smitten with this red…thank you! My mind is humming with ideas that would call for it this Christmas…as I scan the house in my head for furniture pieces. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity! Good luck with the move! 🙂
I would pick their Twilight Gray.
I’m also a lover of neutrals! The red is perfect!
OMG. I am in love with that table and the set up and the color. Basically I love it all!
Gray
Green is always my first color choice – love the red table.
LOVE the red! I would pick something bright and cheery for my office then a shade of purple or pink for my daughter’s room. Thanks for the giveaway!
We’re painting our whole house and I need several colors – a nice soft sage green for the living room.
Love that red for the holidays!!
Liz – the red is perfect. Love it on the table and all your decor is KILLING me. Wow and wow. Love the driftwood tree and the Joy sign. Get serious – I love it all.
I love the red as well.
That table! Even though I’m a neutral colors kinda girl, I have always been strangely drawn to red. Gorgeous!
Red is such a hard colour…..that is the perfect red!
This is the perfect shade of red! I love your cheery little table!
Love the drift wood tree!
I would probably choose a sea foam green or teal. I need to paint the trim in my bedroom, like yesterday.
That shade of red is great! Love it for an accent color for something!
What a great idea. I work at a Thrift Store and I often think that I should just get out there and paint things (or at least post pictures) so that people will get some ideas.
Cute table! We are building a house so we will need lots of paint!
Love this side table! Would love to have a beautiful griege color and a light green!
love the color!
I really like the shade of red you chose.
I would love to paint my kitchen cabinets gray.
Beautiful table and decorations. I haven’t even started, but I had the thought that I would like to get some things out before Thanksgiving. Blessings to you and your husband as you pack up and move north. I can’t wait to see more pics of your new house.
Club Soda would be my choice for my living room.
I’d choose some good neutral colors such as Igloo, Full Moon, Whisper White. 🙂
Liz…I LOVE this red. I’m all about muted colors so this is the perfect red for me 🙂 And that wreath you used! Ahhhh – so adorable! (I’m drinking coffee out of my California Starbucks mug that we bought at the airport when we were headed home from the Behr trip..think of you every time I use it 🙂 sending love friendxo
Love the antique red! I have an old desk of my grandfathers that is painted a muted red…I had to mix paint colors though until I got the right color, would’ve loved to have had that antique red to use would’ve been much easier : )
Happy holidays!
love that red shade, cute table
I love love love your entire tablescape. The sign with the ball wreath is awesome, but the entire look rocks! (I saw it on Newly Woodwards and had to come and tell you.) I will be pinning it for Christmas inspiration.
Groundcover, Chlorophyll, and Antique red.
I love love red. So pretty. Of course everything you do is amazing.
That is a fun and festive color! I love it 🙂
Hi!
Love all your ideas and I love the color you painted the table!
I love your red table. It’ll be fun for Fourth of July and Back To School time, too!
I love your red table. It’ll be fun for Fourth of July and Back to School time, also!
Gonna have to go get the Antique Red paint if I don’t win. That is a beautiful color !
I’ve got a table waiting to be dressed in that antique red. I also need a pretty beachy blue for our TV cabinet.
Wow it sure is close, where did the months go til you were going to be moving? I really love that little table, great style and so versatile for many purposes. The color you chose is sort of a country red, the muted shade is also very versatile.
I used to find tables like that often when we lived in KY but not so much here (western CO) and if I do find them way too highly priced. I could use one in our mud room for my printer and printer papers to hold. Right now I have two small tables one on the other but it works. You did great job painting your little table, it looks wonderful.
You have lots of work ahead of you just moving, but your new Michigan home will be gorgeous for holidays I’m sure. Enjoy the season
such a pretty red!!!!
I’m looking for the perfect grey/green right now for our bedroom.
I am really into greens and blues. The red looks great too!
What a wonderful giveaway. I love the antique red for sure. So many to chose from. I would have no problem picking three. Followed the steps. Thanks for the chance.
We just bought our first house and are in the process of renovating it! Needing lots of paint! 🙂
I love the red color and the joy sign above it. You are so talented I cannot wait to see what you do with your new home. Good luck ck with the move.
I love your red Christmas table! I’m thinking of painting a bedroom a very pale blue.
We are moving our bedroom to the two attic rooms. Lots of painted needed. We’re thinking a crisp white. I’ve always have wanted a white room in our home and the bedroom will be great.
A soft blue or greige for my new house 🙂
I love the antique red! I would choose a nuetral, though, because I desperately need to repaint my living room. I’m not sure which one, but I might choose polar bear for trim
I red is just darling! Perfect choice! I think I may just have to copy that idea!
The red!
Really pops! Perfect for Christmas time. I would love to know where you got the adorable Christmas pillow. Hope all goes well with the move.
I would pick a pastel pink….love painting furniture for little girls rooms
I would be happy with white paint to freshen things up a bit.
The red! I love it!
I LOVE all the colors in the Opulence line!!!
I love that table. That pop of color is great. I think I would go with their Balsam color. I could use a good pop of green color in my very grey living room.
Hi Liz,
Did you seal the table with a clear coat or wax? Very pretty.
Just stunning, Liz. Your styling is always amazing. Thanks for joining us on the blog hop!
I would probably go with a grey. We are repainting almost every part of our new house so this would be amazing! Thanks
I’m loving the red as well. I have in mind the perfect project to use it on!
I would love Behr paint in a black and a light grey color. I have a small table that I am going to paint red now that I see how beautiful it came out, I love it.
I’d love to try the rustic red!
I do not know but I am searching
My kitchen has been this bright cheery red and aqua for a very long time..I am thinking of going all white or beachy seaglass tones of light green and blues.
Thanks
I would pick grey and minty color. My kitchen desperately needs a make over!!
Beautiful!!!! Would love to win. 🙂
