A huge welcome if you are stopping by from The White Buffalo Styling Company who is stop one on the Holiday house walk!!
& a big Surprise to you guys who are just stopping by! I am so happy you are here today! I am the “surprise house” today on Jennifer Rizzo’s annual Holiday House walk & I’m so honored to be among some amazing bloggers on this Holiday house walk this year. As many of you know, we just moved to our Michigan house a few days ago, so before we left North Carolina I decorated our historic rental there for the holidays because let’s face it, that house was screaming to be decorated for Christmas so I had to do it before we left. I will be decorating our Michigan house for christmas soon too, but for now let’s enjoy the NC rental decorated for the season. I have done some full posts on some of these rooms I will be showing today & the links will be in the writing to those, & I will be doing some full posts on the rest of the rooms you see on this post sometime later this week so stay tuned for those! On to our Historic holiday home tour.. I hope you enjoy!!
Let’s start outside on the porch…
Just like the rest of our historic home decor, this space is super rustic & cozy. Just the way I like it! The porch really sets the holiday mood as people enter our home & I hope it makes our guests feel super welcome & at home with the cozy vibes. On to the sitting room as your enter our historic home…
The sitting room reminds me of a nostalgic vintage Christmas & it felt so cozy & at home to me. I love all the rustic details & the pops of red. More of this room will be on the blog very soon. Now on to our dining room all decked out for the holidays…
I wanted the main focus in our Christmas dining room to be the table centerpiece. I used a lovely garland from Balsam Hill along with candles & candle holders from Marshalls along with a wreath also from Marshalls to make a lovely Christmas centerpiece for our long table. You can see more of the dining room {here}. Next stop is our rustic Christmas sunroom…
This room in our historic room is tiny, but it’s adorable. For Christmas I added a few details like my DIY santa art & some cozy textures which really brought in the holiday spirit. To see more of our rustic Chrismtas sunroom you can go {here}. On to our Christmas card living room…
The living room has lots of fun holiday elements that make me smile. First of all the lovely little neutral Christmas tree is whimsical & super simple just like I like it. The tomato cage Christmas trees were fun to make & even more fun to look at in our Christmas decor everyday. Can we take a minute to admire how cute that Christmas card catalog is? I’m in love! & last in the room, but certainly not least is the DIY hot chocolate bar that is not only fun for holiday parties, but also for everyday use too! The last stop on this holiday house tour is our Christmas daybed room…
This room is always super cozy, but for the holidays it just screams afternoon snuggles! I wanted to keep this room super neutral for the holidays with the colors & just add a lot of textures to make this space ready for the cold weather.
Well, that’s it guys!! That is our historic rental all decorated for Christmas. Stay tuned this week for more posts & DIY’s from this rental. & after that it’s on to decorating our new Michigan home for Christmas & it’s going to look completely different. Can’t wait to show you! What do you think of our Christmas decor in our rental? What is your favorite room? I would love to hear from you! Leave your thoughts in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Also, be sure to pin your favorite images from this post to share with your friends! xx
The next stop on the holiday house wall is Dear Lillie!! Head on over to her blog & continue on the Holiday house walk tour…

everything “looked’ perfect.I love that porch! Are you ready to decorate the Michigan house? Happy Holidays.
Liz Marie,
You had a beautiful home in North Carolina. The rustic vibes mixed with nostalgic vintage typography signs is quite inviting. You really did a beautiful job of incorporating a little French and industrial into the Christmas mix too. I love it all. That little wooden pony is one of my favorite little items. You gave me an idea for giving a musical Christmas pony that I have a new finish. You are a clever lady to figure out a use for the metal plant thingy used to steady tomato plants and other heavy growing stuff. So cute. I might have to utilize that idea up here in Alaska.
Thanks for sharing your pretty home.
