My brain has been spinning with new ideas for our Michigan home. Of course I have been busy with our new booth & life in general. Anyways… we still don’t have stair nose on our stairs, but I am already thinking of gallery walls for two sets of stairs in our home. There are actually three stairwells in our home, but one leads to our basement which isn’t even finished {yet}. I’m thinking two out of the three need some sort of gallery wall, don’t you think? I was gathering some inspiration for staircase gallery walls & I thought I would share some of my favorites that I found with you guys & you can let me know which ones you like best. Here are some of my favorites I found, if you have some to share with me, leave the link below in the comments!
Here are some photos I took the day we moved into our house about a month ago when it was empty. These photos were even before we had light fixtures & before the movers came with our stuff, weird. They kind of give a general idea where I am talking about doing the gallery wall. The walls are small so the gallery wall would be on a smaller scale, but you get the idea. Here is the stairs leading to the upstairs…
Black & white staircase gallery wall.
Staircase gallery wall with a light.
Vintage scenic print gallery wall.
Floor to ceiling gallery wall love.
Small & separate gallery walls.
Small & eclectic gallery wall.
So much inspiration! I have a few favorites & few ideas. What do you think? Which layout or gallery wall would you choose? Let me know in the comments below or find me on Facebook & Instagram.
These are great examples, and some that I needed for my own home. I think my favorites are: long framed gallery, large framed gallery, long and full gallery, and small and eclectic gallery.
Great images!
Your new house is amazing! I love gallery walls and have done one in our house with black and white photos. I love the ledge type galleries and would like to incorporate that somewhere. Can’t wait to see what you do!
Ohhh, I love me some gallery walls!! I picture the first one in your home, but my personal favorite is the vintage landscapes….I have a collection of Vintage mountain scenes that are breathtaking! But of course, anything you will do wil be perfect for YOUR home!! Have fun!~Kim
Ok- what an impossible task! I kinda love all of them and quite frankly which ever you choose will look awesome!!! Good Luck and I LOVE the Michigan house!
The first one is my favorite. I hope you are ok,and the flu have gone.
Liz,
If one would want to put up pictures from their grandparents or great, great grandparents, what would be the best frame/protectant for the pictures? Is there anything you would suggest to do for these really old photos?
Still lovin your ideas!
Casey
They are all pretty but I love the “white shabby” one.
I’m not a huge fan of gallery walls (it feels a bit cluttered to me, personally) but I actually quite enjoy the shabby white one! Glad you guys are settling into your new house and I’m really looking forward to all the projects to come! 🙂
Love the white shabby one, the shelf gallery, and the black and white gallery! So hard to pick just one. They are all pretty awesome.
Oh my, do I ever need to look anywhere else for inspiration – just beautiful, I have a wall waiting for a gallery and I’m waiting for my go slow holiday lethargy to be done. Thats helped – thanks for the loveliness and the inspiration.
So much great inspiration Liz! I am dying to move into our fixer upper and have a few gallery walls of our own 🙂 Since we are doing a similar project to what you guys did (gutting and re-doing a house), I would be so curious to hear more about where you sourced things like your awesome interior doors, the flooring, and your kitchen cabinets and counter tops. We will be making those decisions soon and your home is similar to the look we are going for in our old farmhouse 🙂 Thanks!
I love all of them! I did one this past year using a couple of those inspirations and I love how it turned out. I’m sure yours will be incredible once you get to it.
Thank you Kim!!! I’m loving that one too… eeeep such a hard decision! I’m also a little jealous of your landscape collection!! I may need to start one. xx
RIGHT?!? It’s so hard.. I’m going to have to choose in the spur of the moment. It won’t be easy! haha
Yes the flu is officially gone…. THANK GOODNESS! That was the worst week ever, I’ve never felt like that my whole life. & I think I agree with you on that being my favorite. xx
I think that’s the overall favorite. I’m a little obsessed with it! xx
Yay! So glad you love your staircase gallery wall. It can be intimidating, but so rewarding in the end! xx
I’m so excited for you!! It’s really rewarding. I am planning on starting our house updates super super super soon.. honestly I got so thrown off with my sickness that I can’t believe I haven’t done a house update in the new year.. so sorry for the delay! I will be updating asap. xx
Love the white shabby chic gallery wall! Less cluttered looking. I am going to do a gallery wall using some rustic wood frames or maybe distressed white frames. I just had the black frames but wanted a change and I had them leaning on shelves. Have fun deciding and I’m sure it will look amazing!
I love the first one! So rustic yet elegant 🙂

I LOVE the look of a gallery wall but am always so afraid to pull the trigger! We created our first recently behind the bar in our finished basement & I love the result – maybe the stairs should be next!
Your inspirations are gorgeous, especially the photo with the shelves – what a unique idea!
I have been wanting to try this in our stairway. These beauties are great inspiration to take the plunge! Thanks for the ideas!
Lydia
Oooh these are so cool! I never realized there were so many different ways to style a gallery wall. I know whatever you do will be gorgeous and will keep checking back to see what you decide 🙂 Love your blog!
I love these inspirations! I have been trying to come up with some items/photos/etc. to make a gallery wall in one of our rooms, but I just can’t decide on the look I want! Thanks for the ideas!
