I wanted to introduce you to a new amazing dough bowl find of mine! I have always wanted one of these babies & I randomly stumbled across one the other day & really couldn’t even believe I had found one. For a good price, & at the oddest price. Okay, before I introduce you, I have to say that I don’t have a perfect place for it yet, but I couldn’t wait to show you. Another thing is, I haven’t done anything new in our dining room really since our last post [here] that’s on our checklist, but I am enjoying taking my time with this house because for once in our married life we are permanent and don’t have the threat of a military move looming over our head.. so I hope you don’t mind our mess & also get excited for some big changes in this dining room soon. Now on to what I found & where it’s at in our little home…
Lets talk about this Dough Bowl
Eeeeep! I got an antique dough bowl! I still can’t believe it. I have been wanting one for years & I finally have one & it didn’t cost over $300. Actually it didn’t even cost $100. Are you kidding? I have found dough bowls other places for $200+ so this was a great deal! Where did I find it? At a local furniture store here in Michigan! It’s called Art Van & they were using this as a home decor prop in one of their furniture set-ups. I kind of turned into a little school girl when I saw it & immediately freaked out & asked a sales associate if it was for sale. When they said yes & told me that it was marked down I couldn’t believe it. I walked out the door with this guy for less than $100 & a huge smile on my face. This dough bowl is massive & beautiful in so many ways. When I first got it home I just set it in our guest bedroom at the end of the bed because I didn’t know where to put it, but for now I’ve placed it in our dining room for now on our table with some lovely plants from Lowes. It’s not going to stay there by any means because I think I have a better spot for it, but for now it’s sitting there & I wanted to show you my awesome score!
Don’t forget about the rabbit pillow
& what about that lovely rabbit pillow I picked up at Marshalls the other day? Seriously, I can’t pass anything with rabbits up especially this vintage inspired pillow. I also think the pillow helps welcome spring into our home along with this very spring dough bowl centerpiece. Ok, so have you wanted a dough bowl? Do you have one? What do you think of my dough bowl? I’m so excited to play around with it, put a new places, & fill it with new things, & yah just enjoy the fact that I finally have my dough bowl! Let me know what you think of it in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx
I’m dying! You are such a lucky girl to have scored such a beautiful piece and I’m loving it as a centerpiece. I can totally see it as a great serving piece too! Would be great for an easter brunch, filled with croissants and pastries. Maybe an assortment of fruit? Anyways, you’ve convinced me that I need one of these!
Great find! It looks beautiful on your table Liz! Love the bunny pillow too!
I want one of these too! What a deal you got for it! I am sure you will find lots of uses for it! Enjoy!

what a gorgeous find! what a lucky you!!
Congrats on your bowl. I have mine on the kitchen table most of the time, but it looks great almost anywhere that is long enough. I have a set of led candles in mine with faux potpourri that I made . A decor shop near me has very nice reproductions that are very inexpensive and several sizes. I have been tempted to get one and sell my antique. And by the way my kitchen table has the same legs as your dining table. I love them so much and there are 5 legs. One in the middle as the table has four leaf extensions. Love the way your home is shaping up.
I went the cheap way and bought a reproduction, but wish I had the real thing. What plant did you use? It will be fun to see all the different things you do with it over the years. So far mine is sitting on the floor in the bedroom because I can’t decide how to use it. Lame, huh? Thanks for the inspiration. Maybe I’ll search “dough bowl” on Pinterest too. Love your style and blog.
Love the bowl…so many uses…looks lovely on your table! Enjoy!
soo adorable! love how you got some real plants there! I remember you saying you can’t keep plants alive and i totally relate to that. I’ve had a few plants around for the pst 6 months now and I’m happy to report their still alive so thats exciting! Anyway, love it!

I love the bread bowl and the “Remember when…” sign too. Where did you get the sign? It is a must have for my hallway! I LOVE it (all).
What are the plants called in the dough bowl? Love it!!!!
I have to admit that I did not know what a dough bowl was before this post. Now that I do though…I think, nope, scratch that – I NEED one. I have no idea where I’ll put it, but it’s awesome. And I’m addicted to plants so I love what you did with yours. I guess I’m going to have to search high and low to find one at a good bargain!
Beautiful! What kind of plants or faux plants are in this bowl? Love the combination! =)
hi! where are your dining chairs from?
