We sure do miss that sweet tea sipping state & just can’t stay away much longer. It’s been 4 months here in the mitten & we are getting that urge to move back to the state we lived in for the first 8 years of our marriage. I mean can you blame us? We have so many memories there, & we feel like NC is just calling our name, but before we go I have to tell you guys one thing just so you completely understand why we are moving back to North Carolina…
APRIL FOOLS!!! haha don’t hate me! I just had to do it. I hope I at least got a few of you because I really stink at playing jokes on anyone. Please tell me I did! We are actually NOT moving back to NC even though some days we miss it so much we jokingly consider it while we bring up all the amazing & fun memories we have there. But the truth is, we love it here in Michigan! Our lives are just getting started here & we see God working in our lives here. We see Him moving in ways we never imagined. We plan on being in pure Michigan as long as God wants us to, but if someday we are called back to NC we will of course take you along for the journey, but maybe you won’t believe me when I tell you that time. haha I hope you are not mad at my little trick.. I love a good old April Fools joke & they always make me laugh when they trick me so I hope you laughed a little & now we can get on to today’s post which is celebrating the end of March & the beginning of the beautiful month of April by re-capping the best of March’s blog posts here on Liz Marie Blog. Enjoy & I hope you loved all my posts this past month…
My DIY Magnetic Message Board [Here] was a fun creation that I thought up super last minute & just created as I went. I used pallet wood, wood scraps, a sheet of metal, & a couple of hooks. You can see the full tutorial & more photos of the piece [here]. Sometimes it’s fun to do something different!
One of my most favorite projects in March & EVER for that matter is our DIY Industrial pipe TV cover. It’s one of the most challenging projects we did just dealing with a heavy thing in this older home, but in the end it’s pretty awesome & pretty epic. See how we made it & photos of the process & how it works [here]. Did you love this project too?
This Large DIY floor mirror we built in March was one of those super random projects that didn’t turn out exactly how we wanted it, but it still turned out super awesome! See the full tutorial over [here] on the original post. This entryway is about to get a huge makeover soon & I can’t wait to show you!!
I made this quirky industrial lamp out of an abandoned lamp that I found. I think it turned out quite cute & you can see the crazy before & after photos [here].
Even the littlest of furniture makeovers can make a big impact & this little table looks totally different than when I got it. This little table makeover was so fun to do! I shared how I got this look on the table using a fun technique on the blog [here] if you are interested!
This past month I went to LA to work on a project with Marshalls! It was so fun & such a new & exciting experience. I blogged all about it & shared some lovely photos of my trip & the brunch I designed for the project. You can see All of the details & photos [here].
I found this amazing dough bowl this month & made a little centerpiece for our dining room table for early spring. To see more photos of it & some more of our dining room go [here] to see it!
This month I FINALLY reviewed our jute rugs that we have in our home. I gave the pros & cons & what I think of them after 3 years. You can see the full jute rug review [here] & more photos of them in our home [here].
This month we NAMED OUR HOUSE! Such a fun fun thing to do & we got this sign to show what we named our house for all of our guests to see. I love this piece hanging in our upstairs living room. You can see more of the sign & all the details [here].
After 4 months of living in our Michigan house I finally blogged our guest bedroom! This little room is all ready for spring & the full reveal is [here]. This room is so bright & fresh & makes me so so happy!
We may not have a mantel, but I find other areas to decorate seasonally in our home. I decorated our card catalog for spring as our “faux mantel“. I love this little corner of our home & I was excited to put it up on the blog. You can see the full spring faux mantel [here].
One of my most favorite & easiest projects this month was this DIY large chalkboard. I loved it because I’ve wanted to make it for so long & did, & also because of how easy it was & the messages we can display in our home. You can see the full tutorial & more photos [here].
Happy April & Happy April Fools day! I hope you don’t get tricked too many time today. I’m sure I will be fooled a few times we will wait and see. March was a fun month here on the blog & these are just some of the posts I did so be sure to check back and see if you missed anything! Let me know what you think of the posts in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram! xx
Can you tell me what kind of flooring you have? Is it wood or a laminate? I’m doing new flooring and love it!!!!
It’s luxury vinyl planks Nessa & we love it!! xx
Stinker! I was like… what the heck, No Way!? I gotta read this.
I’m blonde though. haha
haha love you Shannon! Seriously I’m such a bad joker so it really tickles me that I fooled you for at least 5 seconds. If I were to try to tell you in person you never would have believed me 😉 haha xx
I was like wait, what!? Haha Totally got me!
I was like wait, what!? Haha Totally got me
Ha! I was so confused when I started reading!
You got me! …… but, not because you said you were moving to NC, but because you are NOT! I know how much you & your husband loved NC and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if you moved back!
Hahaha I knew it was a joke the second I saw the title of this post! 😛
I got really excited because I want to meet you (we live in Jacksonville). But then I got sad because we move back to KY next week and I figured you wouldn’t be down here before then. haha! You definitely got me!
Whew, you had me for awhile! I just discovered you and I happen to live in Walker, off Wilson; so not too far from where you’re booth is located.
I totally believed it 🙂
I was turning my computer on this morning as I was talking to a co-worker. My face dropped when I saw the title of your post!! She said, “What’s wrong?” I thought “NO”! They just fixed up their Michigan house and it’s so cute! They can’t leave it! When I read on I was so relieved! (And felt a little silly for falling for it.)
You seriously had me! I was like “WHAT”?!
Haha you totally got me! I was thinking, “Oh my gosh these two kids are totally crazy!” haha. I love what you are doing with your new home, it’s so fun seeing you turn it into a warm and cozy space. I want to come visit!
Love it! You got me and made me laugh. I started my kiddos out this morning with an April Fools and got them too. We all had a good laugh. I consider it my duty to fool a few people on the 1st.
You got me GOOD on that one ! Didn’t see it coming. I was like ‘What – we haven’t had the full skinny on the remodel – brands names ect. – Whats going on!”
I was super pissed!!! lol!!!!!!!!!
Yeah you totally got me!!! When you were about to reveal why you guys were moving I thought it was because you guys were preggo. I too have trouble getting preggo. I have PCOS. Anywho speaking of April fools… my first year being married I played an April Fools joke on the hubs… I told him I was preggo over the phone. I am horrible, I know. But I got him so good!
You got me I was worried thinking what happened!
You totally had me! My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it. 🙂
Yup. I just read this and totally fell for it today still hahahaha darn you! 😉 I was like noooooooo we haven’t even gotten together yet!!!
