A few weeks ago I shared what’s on my coffee table[s] in a new series I started where I share my ever evolving decor in various places in our home. It’s such a fun series to show what’s on my ______ [night stands, coffee table, bathroom counters, exd] [fill in the blank with anything in our home] at that moment. I mean we all know my decor is changing almost daily because I suffer from design add, which I’m not complaining about. Today I wanted to share what’s on our nightstands in our master bedroom at the moment. We moved into our Michigan house about 4 months ago & we haven’t done anything to our master bedroom, well this coming month [May] that’s about to change! We are completely re-doing our master bedroom & I’m so stinkin’ excited to finally get this room finished. The one thing that won’t be changing [most likely] is our nightstands that I painted a few years ago for our master bedroom in North Carolina. I still love them & so I want them to stay! The nightstands are actually old antique dressers & I just love the look & all of the storage they provide.
These are our two nigh stands as they looked today. It was so rainy and dark here today so excuse the terrible photos, but I just wanted to share them today so sunshine or no sunshine, here is our lovely antique nightstands that have gone through two big moves & have lived in three different homes of ours & are two of our favorite pieces of furniture in our home. Here is the “before” shot of our nightstands 3 years ago when we picked them up at an antique store before we painted them Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze…
& after some paint & DIY love…
In some photos the two nigh stands look slightly different colors, but they are the exact same. The lighting in the room was just terrible so imagine they look the same. I styled the two nightstands two different ways for now, but I’m sure the decor will greatly change when we get our new bed, bedding, & other furniture. For now they are filled with greenery & other lovely little things that make me happy like antique books & candles…
The lamps on the nightstands are from Target, the books & windows are antique finds, the candles & clock are from marshals, the olive bucket is from Target, the greenery is from Michaels, & the metal sculpture is from Homegoods. Just simple things thrown together to brighten up our bedroom. Even on a cloudy rainy day like today the nightstands make the room a happy place.
So, that is what’s on our nightstands today & a glimpse at our unfinished master bedroom. I’ll be back sometime this week with some plans we have for this space. I’m excited to share our the direction we are heading & the changes we are hoping to accomplish in our master bedroom. What do you think of our nightstands? Are you happy we are keeping them. I promise [hopefully] next time I go to photograph them it will be sunny out so the photos are better, but I’m hoping you didn’t mind these today & that you got the idea of them at least. Let me know what you think in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram! xx
love it! and love your series!
Liz, is the metal bucket called an olive harvest bucket? I just discovered them and they are adorable. I will have to see if I can find one. We harvest olives every winter where I live, but I have never seen one. .. I guess it’s too vintage for today’s lifestyle.
Your nightstands are gorgeous and your style sense is impeccable.
Love those night tables ! Especially the one with the curved front!
Your nightstands are gorgeous. I love that they are the same style and scale but not a perfectly matched set. (And you have them styled beautifully.)
Could you tell us more about painting the dressers/night stands? I love the way they look and have just the piece to make over! Did you use regular latex paint? Flat or Satin…did you wax them?
I LOVEEEE those nightstands!!! That is exactly what I’m looking for for my master. I love the idea of having all that storage because we are cluttery kind of people. Every time I see a stunning makeover like that on a piece of furniture it reminds me that I need to look past an ugly finish to what it could be 🙂
Love this series as I love snooping in your home! And your night stands are just so perfect….size and color and decor. I have to say I am a bit surprised the lamps are on the outside edge and so far away from the bed….it would drive us crazy, trying to turn them on and/or off that way. Love knowing you shop at Target, too, as it is a favorite source for fun purchases for me, too.
Enjoy the day!!!
If you’re ever in the Atlanta area, you should stop by my neighborhood, Chamblee. It’s North Atlanta, and there’s a strip of antique stores called Antique Row. They have the best antiques, it’ll take you all day to peruse every store. Website: http://www.antiquerow.com
i love your nightstands and everything you do!!!
Love them. Such a cool color. Remember what the paint was called?!
Your nightstands turned out beautifully! I am working on our master bedroom right now too and I enjoyed thinking more about what to put on my nightstands:)
Beautifully styled nightstands! I love all the greenery. And, I also love that you’re making you space beautiful before it’s exactly how you want it to end up.
Love the nightstands. I thought they matched until you showed the before photos! Please tell me you aren’t taking down the ship lap! Did you put it up? I love it and that’s why I clicked on your blog. The room looks great now. But I understand about the urge to re-do !
I love your master bedroom. Can you tell me about your bedding? I really like it and I didn’t see a link to any info on it. Thanks
Fantastic site. Plenty of useful info here. I’m sending it to some
pals ans additionally sharing in delicious. And
of course, thanks for your sweat!
I love the proportions of your two drawer night table (and the colour!) – can you tell me the dimensions? and how many inches the legs are before the bottom drawer begins? Thanks!
