Happy Friday! I wanted to share something fun with you guys that I did recently. Well, Actually this was like a month ago, & I have been meaning to share ever since. So Marshalls asked me to play a fun little game with them called #ProjectFab Traveling bag. Me & some beautiful style bloggers.. I mean fabulous & beautiful.. I don’t know how I got thrown into the mix, but I was happy to throw my DIY blogger style into the mix with the bag & join. So what they did was they sent a purse out to a blogger [which happened to be me first… the pressure!] I got to keep the bag for a week & they asked us to take photos of us with them in front of a known place in our city & after our week with the bag we would send it to the next blogger. Fun right? Well, since moving back to Grand Rapids 6 months ago I was happy to show off where I live & here are some photos that Mr. LMB took of me with the bag with my handy cell phone downtown Grand Rapids. It was a cold & rainy day & it was kind of fun running around downtown in the rain together & thinking of places that we love to take photos of the bag with…
Isn’t this bag so me? I mean, it’s neutral. It gets me. I love it. One thing that I love about moving back to Grand Rapids is the large art community. I felt like I didn’t have that when we lived in North Carolina & now since moving to GR there is such a huge community of people who love the same things I do. From design to giving life to old pieces, & so on. We have been loving all the aspects of this city since moving here & feel welcomed by the city in many ways. We had to stop at the Downtown Market to take some photos & grab some food. We love hanging out there, eating, & on one sunday a month shopping for vintage goods at the vintage market they host monthly. & I need a living wall at my house! How cool is this wall though really? I’m obsessed.
The next stop was Calder plaza which hosts La Grande Vitesse which is a huge sculpture by Alexander Calder in 1969. The sculpture was the first public art work funded by the Art in Public Places program of the NEA which is a pretty cool thing for Grand Rapids to have. It just shows the heart & soul of the city is art. There were a few other places that we stopped but decided against photos in the pouring rain, but really Grand Rapids is a pretty cool city & we truly love living here. If you ever are near GR & want to grab coffee I’m your girl! This was so much fun & it was kind of fun being a “fashion blogger” for the day. Even though I’m far from a fashionista & had to be in my rain coat..I got to show off this fab bag & that’s what it was all about. What’s your favorite thing about your city? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram! & you can follow the bag where it’s traveling to [here]. xx
