Today we received some news that one of our little dreams was crushed. It wasn’t anything to do with our fertility, but a lot to do with something that has been on our hearts lately. We felt God pushing us in a direction & we prayed on it, but today that dream was put on hold. Not necessarily gone forever, but just paused by God. I am thankful that God knows whats best for us because who knows what would happen if I w
as in control. Of course I’m human & my little heart hurts, but I will forever trust that God knows whats best & that’s what pushes me forward & gives me hope.
I came home from getting the news & right away wanted to change something in our home. We had a lovely neutral & copper fall centerpiece on our table & I was craving something more simple. I hadn’t used a dough bowl in our dining room in a while so I dragged it out of hiding & filled it with some neutral pumpkins & greenery that I had. I found this dough bowl on one of my junking adventures, but you can find some at places like Painted Fox [here]. Dough bowls are so versatile & you can do so much with them!
That pie safe? It’s a work in progress. I’ll be blogging it soon, but it’s been a process & I think I know the next step. Our dining room is so small, but It’s coming right along. I also forgot I never blogged the table change, I need to do that too. Let me just make a list…
What do you think of my simple dough bowl fall centerpiece? I think I’ll keep it for a while. I’m thinking I need to do a colorful fall centerpiece too… what do you think? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today it means so much! xx
See our empty dining room a few months back [here] with our spring dough bowl centerpiece! Wow, this room has changed so much!

I don’t know what excites me more, that beautiful, yet simple, centerpiece or that we finally got to see that gorgeous piece of furniture you added to your dinning room! I LOVE it!!
I am so sorry to hear about your broken dream. I admire your positivity and I will be praying for comfort!
Hello, Just wanted to say Hi….love your blog! You are such an inspiration! I do love the centerpiece and would love to find a dough bowl. I found a place down the road that has white and gray pumpkins…love that look. So sorry for your heartache. Bless you, Lori (Vintage thru Thyme) on instagram
Your faith is really admirable. I liked the person that put the quote on your insta: “If God hasn’t opened a door, praise Him in the hallway.”
Also, I don’t know where you get your energy! There is now a china hutch and a new table?! No wonder your house doesn’t gather dust, you don’t leave anything long enough for it to gather!!! haha!
This is really a nice place.
