A few weeks ago I shared the exterior makeover progress of our house [here] & I got so many requests to share our front “stoop” fall decor & I love sharing what you guys love to see so here it is. I hesitated sharing our front stoop fall decor because in my head we were going to have our porch added to our house by fall so it wasn’t “finished enough” in my mind to share, but then I was reminded on periscope the other day by some readers to embrace our stoop & they are right! I get caught up sometimes on the next project & forget to embrace the now. Something else I did to enjoy the “now”? I painted our front door! You see we actually have a new front door sitting in our garage waiting to be installed, so in the mean time our front door was looking less than desirable especially with that new white siding, so what did I do for a temporary fix? I painted it. Yes, yes I did.
I took a few hours one afternoon & gave the stoop a mini makeover by painting the front door, adding some classic fall decor, & then nature decided to also add some leaves which I was not mad about either. & what the stoop looked like before I went “2 hour makeover with Liz Marie” on it… yah that’s a thing…
I didn’t realize what a big difference it all had made until I looked back at the before photo… WOW! If you ever get anything from my blog besides a daily dose of home decor inspiration is that the power of paint is real & that simple changes make a HUGE difference.
The new door color? One of my all time favorite grays: Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal. The door is very dented and uneven so painting didn’t fix the whole thing, but it was for sure a temporary fix. The door doesn’t look perfect, but it for sure looks better in my humble opinion.
I used a lot of antique finds for styling like the ladder, the small pedestal, & the green boxes. The rug & the wreath are both from Target. Just an FYI, after one time in the rain my rug kind of got messed up & discolored. I’m not sure if it’s just mine, but wanted to warn you. Hey, it was 12.99 so I can’t complain too much right? The marquee letter is from Vintage Marquee lights. & that beautiful light fixture is form Warehouse lighting [here] & I’m obsessed with it. & yes, Liz Marie actually used orange pumpkins which was kind of fun. I love how classic this fall stoop turned out to be. Just simple & classic fall decor.
So, that is our simple fall stoop & our front door makeover. I’m excited to add our front porch to the house & add our new front door, but for now these simple changes made me love our little stoop and current door. Since I had all the other items already this little makeover cost as much as a can of paint. Not bad! Let me know what you think of the makeover in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog & sharing it with your friends.. it means so much to me! xx
I LOVE this.. My front entrance is sups small and this is an inspiration… as usual…
Looks awesome! It’s makes me excited to have a house someday so I can decorate a porch 🙂
Liz Marie, It is so nice to be following you on your journey to transform this house into a home. It looks great.
It’s so amazing how a little paint can go such a long way, your makeover looks stunning! I especially love how you’ve decorated for Fall 🙂

I had never heard the term “stoop’ – had to look it up as it’s not used in the UK. However I am pleased to discover that I now have my very own stoop – not decorated with pumpkins though as not much of that happens here. My stoop is currently supporting scaffold poles as having work done, so not as pretty as yours 🙂
Hi Liz Marie,
I love your new light fixture! Your home is similar to mine, and I would love to know what size light you purchased. This may be exactly what I’ve been looking for 🙂 Thanks!
