Usually on the blog my compulsive DIY stories start out with me saying “while I was out shopping at… ” This one starts like “While I was browsing the Country Living Magazine…” I was browsing the magazine the other day & spotted a tobacco basket that they used to hold their Christmas cards. I was like hey! I have one of those & I was actually thinking of doing the same exact thing. Of course since I saw it there & they inspired me to get my booty moving and make it happen I am going to give them the full credit for inspiring me. I actually have two large tobacco baskets, one is hanging in our downstairs living room & it frames our art, but my other one was being unused in our basement so I hauled it out & loaded it with Christmas cards. Of course these are not our Christmas cards from this year yet, but you get the idea. We will be loading up our tobacco basket with Christmas cards when they start arriving this year.
This post is more of a post to inspire you & share with you what you can do with your tobacco baskets. Don’t have one? You can find them at one of my favorite stores, Painted Fox [here]. They have some great ones in their shop if you haven’t found one on your junkin’ adventures yet like we did. I love a good tobacco basket! I’m actually really bad at displaying Christmas cards every year & they tend to just end up piling up on our kitchen counter so I think this will be so fun to collect & display them this year!
I loved this idea of a tobacco basket Christmas card holder that I had to share. You will for sure be seeing this guy pop up in our house as the season progresses with lovely cards in it. I can’t way to fill it! What do you guys think of this Christmas card holder? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you as always for stopping by my blog & sharing it with your friends.. that means so much to me! xx
