I have been sharing a few sneak peeks of our Christmas decor as it slowly goes up in our home & as it evolves as we approach closer to Christmas. I have said it before, but I will say it again. I know that I’m decorating earlier than your average person for christmas, but there is a few reasons. One: Last year at this time I was packing up our North Carolina home & getting ready to move across the country & really was unable to decorate our Michigan home a whole lot for Christmas. I remember telling myself.. next year Liz, next year. I couldn’t wait any longer than after halloween. Two: I hope my blog inspires in some small way. I come here to share my ideas, projects, home decor, & more to hopefully inspire you once in a while. I want to get some Christmas posts up before the masses start decorating so that maybe I can share some ideas. Now that I explained that little fact, there is something I did in our Christmas decor this year that I couldn’t wait to share because I kind of love it. We hung one our vintage sleds in our living room & this is what it looked like today…
Yes. We just hung a vintage sled from our antique sign we have hanging in our living room. There was already a nail in the center of the sign so I simply tied a rope on the back of the sled connecting the two sides & used that as the hanger. So simple & I feel like it adds a huge “Christmas” statement & focal point. If you don’t have a vintage sled lying around, Jose & I made one last week & we blogged it [here] if you want to make your own! Mind you that the room is not fully styled & neither is the couch, but it’s coming along quite nicely & I really am loving the sleds this year. That garland around the sign? I got it at Michaels & I simply stapled it around the edge of the sign. Just imagine me balancing up on the top of the couch trying to do that. Cute huh?
Do you ever get the urge to hang up a million vintage sleds in your house? Me too. Me too. I’m telling you guys.. I know I’m a neutral girl, but I AM LOVING these pops of red for Christmas. Nothing gets me in the mood to have some hot cocoa than some red christmas decor. It’s actually going to be very hard for me this year to take all the red out when Christmas is over. I hope you guys like our hanging vintage sled & that it possibly inspires you to do something similar or just got you in the mood to decorate. I hope you are all having a great week & be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx

Liz, I love that rustic star! Where is it from?? I looked online but couldn’t find it.
Everything is GORGEOUS!!! I am loving all the sleds in your decor this year!! You are very inspiring ,so much that when I was at the thrift store the other day I saw 4 unfinished wooden sleds the size of the ones on your tree I immediately thought of you and your tree! lol I got them in the hopes of creating a “vintage sled tree” look on my own tree this year! I know it won’t look anyway as beautiful as yours but you’ve got me “vintage sled” crazy now….. 😉
Love all the pops of red, and especially LOVE the found round sign!
But was wondering – you obviously have a lot of great decor, but you consistently state that your house is not that big.
That being the case, what is your storage solution for all of your awesome decor finds or seasonal decorations?
From my own experience, I know that pillows alone can take up a ton of space!
Would love yo hear your thoughts! Thanks!
Love the Christmas tree topiary! So inspiring!
Yes! I really appreciate your designing taste since Christmas is nearly to come. Gonna looking forward for another works of yours. Have you done designing green Christmas?
