You guys!! I’m so overwhelmed with the love on my Holiday House Walk Tour yesterday [here]. Thank you for all your kind words on the blog, on my Instagram, facebook, email, & more. I honestly have a hard time comparing myself or not seeing why people like what I do, so hearing that from you makes my whole day and inspires me to keep sharing. Thank you. So, I promised I would share each room individually so that I could talk more about all the details because let’s face it… yesterday was such a long post & it would have been hard to explain it all. First up is our cozy rustic Christmas cottage living room in our lower level…
This living room is seriously the most cozy space in our home. This is the room we always hang out in, watch tv in, work in, & even sleep in. Yes, so the other night Jose came up with the idea that we should sleep in this room on the sectional & it was the cutest thing ever. He was so excited the whole day to have a “sleepover” in the basement… I mean 8 years of marriage and still excited to have a movie night on a new sofa. Picture us sleeping with our heads meeting in the middle all night with the dogs squeezing in their between us. It was fun & a great memory in this little space.
The pillows on the couch really bring in the holiday spirit with the plaid & pops of red. We used simple elements like naked Christmas trees, lots of texture, vintage elements, & classic Christmas decor to create this cozy cottage Christmas vibe. Over the couch is our DIY clock [here] & a chalkboard we got at a flea market. All the wreaths are fro Jo-Anns & they are my favorite “cheap” wreath option from any craft store for sure. The Christmas tree sign from Feather & Birch & that Merry & Bright sign from Rebel Reclaimed [here] make my whole day too. The lights are a new addition I will be blogging about more soon, but they are from my favorite online store, Painted Fox [here]. The silver Christmas buckets are from Cottage In The City [here], & are filled with fresh greens & a few trees I picked up at Home Goods. The couch is of course an Ikea Ektorp sectional, the coffee table is a DIY [here], & the rug is from Good old World Market.
This little corner of our lower level living room is where our TV is. We blogged about our DIY barn door tv cover [here]. We placed a chicken coop under the TV a while back that we decked out for christmas with things that we already had from past years like some red & white ornaments from Marshalls, A Christmas banner from Target, some garland from Michaels that I chopped up, & some books. The little car ornaments are all from Sew A Fine Seam [here]. It’s really fun using all the same Christmas decor that you have already & create a whole new vignette.
I love how this cozy Christmas cottage living room of ours & I love that it was so simple to put together. Some naked Christmas trees, some pops of red, & some rustic elements, & boom you have a cozy cottage Christmas living room. I hope you guys enjoyed this space as much as I do, & I wish I could have you all over for a cozy sleepover, but hopefully these photos do it some justice. Thank you so much for stopping by & as always THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your sweet words & for sharing my blog with your friends and family. Let me know what you think of this space in the comments below, chat with me on Instagram, & find me on on Facebook. xx
