Hi friends! I have some exciting news to share with you today. Well, it’s exciting for me. You see, I have this amazing husband who is one of those rare people who is not only extremely smart at everything, has an amazing memory, knows a lot about a lot of things, but who is also super creative. He is seriously one of the biggest drives behind this blog of ours. When he got out of the military last year he was still in school full time, worked full time, & was a full time amazing husband, but he still needed that creative outlet. He’s always doing projects around the house, building things, junkin’ with me, & doing something creative, but he recently started making something that he loves & is now selling at our store. You know that ‘proud parent’ feeling? That’s how I’m feeling about him & the pieces he has recently started creating. I wanted to come on here & show off these lovely handmade candle holders that he is now making & painting himself. Of course I was just going to snap some quick photos of them & then it turned into a lovely Easter tablescape because I can never just do something simple. & since it’s been so cold here in Michigan it has me dreaming of spring, so Easter seemed like the most appropriate thing to do right now. Hopefully this inspires some of you who are wanting to decorate for Easter soon…
So there they are! Just some of the candlesticks that Jose has been making all styled on our dining room table. I created an Easter tablescape with a few lovely things I already had at the house & few new things. I wanted to create a really simple Easter table with eggs so I went to Michaels thinking they would have some bags of faux crafty eggs.. NOPE. They were either all out or just didn’t carry them but, what I did find was a wreath with eggs on it so I decided to be resourceful and rip all the eggs off of the wreath when I got it home & put them all over the table & some on the candle holders with some moss also from Michaels. I used a coupon so I didn’t feel bad ripping the wreath apart & also the eggs didn’t get damaged when I took them off the wreath & can be used year after year as well. Of course I grabbed a few nests from Michaels as well to put on the candle holders. I used a table runner from Marshalls to put the candles on & the terrariums, wood chargers, & plates are all from World Market. The napkins are actually towels from Ikea as well as all the greenery. I love how this simple easter tablescape came out & I love how my babes handmade candle holders look on our table too.
Seriously I couldn’t be more proud of him. & the best part? He just started making this candle holders. These are the first ones he has ever made, no practice. I mean, I could never do this. He amazes me daily. He will be selling these at our store, The Found Cottage, & I’m excited for all of his creations to find new homes. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing the beginning of his new adventure in wood working & also that you enjoyed our simple light & bright Easter tablescape. Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & I hope you have a great day. Be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram. xx

Are the candlesticks something you would sell online? I love to have a few, but I live in Idaho!
Wow! You guys are like the dynamic duo! You’re both so talented and have such a good eye. I would also love to buy a few online if you ever go that route.
Oh and I love the tablescape! It’s so light and airy, yet cozy at the same time. You’ve inspired me!
Thank you so much for your blog! I thoroughly enjoy you guys!
