Our house is always in progress. I mean, that’s the main thing I blog here other than DIY projects because it’s always changing. But lately I feel like our home after living here for a year has been going through some major changes which is pretty exciting. This downstairs living room of ours has been getting a LOT of changes lately that I haven’t really blogged, so today I’m doing a little update for you guys on this room of ours. It’s a “mini unfinished room tour” I guess you could call it to catch you guys up on what it looks like these days. I’ll also include a little list at the end of projects & things we want to do to finish the room up. Just to clear things up for those who are new here or who still don’t get the layout of our house because it can be confusing, we live in a tri-level home with an upstairs living room, a downstairs living room, & potential for a basement living room. So this is our downstairs living room makeover progress & how it looked today…
What it looked like this past fall before we started to re-do the downstairs living room:
& today with lots of progress:
We moved our round coffee table from our upstairs living room down to this room & we sold our chippy coffee table with the wood top. We loved that coffee table, but it was time for a change & I couldn’t get rid of this round one you can see how we made [here]. Actually this round coffee table is broken & we need to fix it, but that’s a whole different story I will cover later. One thing at a time Liz, one thing at a time. We now have the Ikea Ektorp sectional down here that we have been loving & we moved the two gray tufted chairs from Marshalls down here as well from the upstairs living room. We hung the corbel lights from Painted Fox on either side of our thrifted chalkboard. Our end tables you can find [here] & our framed Deann Art you can find [here], We switched out our old rug with new lighter one from World Market. That big round wood pallet clock was also a DIY project we made [here] & we moved it to the other wall which I love a lot more. The other side of the living room is looking like this…
On this side of the room I put my nesting box under our DIY barn door TV cover [here] & it holds my vintage green book collection. We have two shutters hanging on each side of the window with lemon wreaths from Target on them. The bookcase is from Ikea & I will blog more about that soon. The basket is from DecorSteals. I will also be doing a stair gallery wall update soon on the blog as well so stay tuned for that. This side of the room is a work in progress, but I truly love it in it’s progress state.
A small list of what we want to do yet: Fix the coffee table & possibly put a new bottom on it, paint the wires on the pendants, put pictures in all of the frames, finish styling the bookcase, get a lamp for the stacked trunk end table, style the end tables, replace some of the pillows, touch up paint in some spots, & that is about it. What do you think of our downstairs living room makeover progress? We are loving it so far & can’t wait to make some more progress & share it. Let me know what you think in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you SO much for stopping by the blog today! xx
You’re home always looks wonderful! So cozy and inviting!
Love the new decor. Can you do more close up pictures next time? Would love a closer look at what you have framed above the chalkboard 🙂
Love love love it! Those lemon wreaths are adorable.
