DIY Succulent Drawer

I’ve been doing a whole “clean my garage out” series lately. Just click [here] to see more posts I’ve done lately of things I’ve been pulling out of my garage & fixing up & doing projects with. Well, this week I found a couple old drawers & decided to do something fun with them. Why not do something quick & easy with my favorite little things, succulents. I visited my favorite greenhouse this past weekend & picked up some succulents for a great price so I decided to use those for these drawers. Everything is better with succulents right?

These drawers you ask? Well, We actually made them 3 years ago! You can see the tutorial on how to make these drawers [here]. They were just chillin’ in our garage with no use in our new house. They most likely would have been thrown away, but thankfully I was able to save them. How did I do it…

I first drilled a few holes in the bottom of the drawers just so things could breathe at the bottom. It just seemed like the best thing to do. I then lined the drawer with a garbage bags & put the holes in that on the bottom. Again, it just seemed like the right thing to do. I used some potting soil I had leftover from my last succulent project & filled the drawers with the soil up to almost the top of the drawer. I then took all of my succulents still in their individual pots & played around with placement around the drawer. When I was happy with the placement of the succulents I took them out of their individual pots & planted them in the drawer. I placed the DIY succulent drawer on my little porch, but I’m sure I will move it somewhere else soon. I snapped a few photos of it on our porch & it kind of made me want to fill everything with succulents. Oh, great, a new addiction for me to have.
