You guys know by now that you can’t trust me locked in a room with a can of paint right? Well, a few weeks ago I got my shipment of Magnolia Home paint & I’ve been having a little fun with it. One of my first projects? Giving our nightstands in our master bedroom a makeover! I got these antique dressers years ago in North Carolina & they have been used every since that day as our nightstands. I originally painted them a dark gray called urbane bronze that I loved, but I wanted to give them a little refresh & now was the best time to give them a whole new look. Here is how the nightstands looked today…
Many of you probably know that Joanna Gaines came out with two formulas of paint: Furniture/cabinet paint & interior paint. I actually chose to paint the nightstands in one of the interior paint colors because I wanted to paint them in the color one horn white & the furniture paint only comes in two colors. I didn’t really prep the nightstands too much besides cleaning them & I got right to painting. I used about two layers of the color to cover the dark gray up. When the paint was dry I sealed it with a matte polyurethane & voila “new” nightstands in our master bedroom.
Here are the nightstands before I painted them…
& after some paint & hardware…
I picked up some new knobs at Hobby Lobby to replace the original ones. I’m all about using original hardware on pieces, but this one needed some new ones. I’m really happy with the hardware & the large size of them. I feel like these knobs were a little neglected in the Hobby Lobby hardware aisle because all of the hardware in the aisle was picked over except for these. Crazy how some new hardware can completely change a piece right?
What do you guys think of this one horn white nightstand refresh? I am kind of obsessed with how light & bright the nightstands are now & the new look they give our room. I love the power of paint & how it easily transforms a space. Something that anyone can do to their rooms to make a dramatic change. So far I am loving the Magnolia paint line & the color choices. More projects with the paint to come! Let me know what you think in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!! xx

Won’t the poly yellow? If not which one do you use?
Love! Glad you posted the pic of urbane bronze, tho! Think I’ll use that for my son’s dresser makeover.
Where did you get the mirrors behind the night stands? Love them and have been looking everywhere…
