As I was thinking about our fall decor this year in our fixer upper farmhouse I really wanted to incorporate work from my creative friends. You may have seen the beautiful pumpkin painting that my friend Holly did [here] for our sunroom which I adore. Then I was at our shop the other day & I spotted this “thankful sign” from Feather & Birch who is a vendor at our store & also a very good friend of mine & I knew I had to hang it in our farmhouse. When I took it home there were a thousand places it would have fit, but I chose to hang it in our dining room & it’s quite fitting that we put it in that room…
This is the room in our home that is the farthest along in our fixer upper. It’s FAR from finished & is still in shambles in some parts, but it’s the room that is the “light at the end of the tunnel” some may say. It’s the room that reminds me to be thankful for this beautiful home & beautiful life that we have. This word hanging above the french doors to the porch is the absolute perfect reminder of that. It’s also perfect for the fall season & the holidays coming up as well. If you read my post on Friday about pears & perspective [here] you will know about why I am thankful for this fixerupper of ours despite how dirty it is. I used 3M hooks [these] to hang this little sign & it was super easy & painless because it was so light.
Seriously this wooden letter thankful sign is one of my favorite additions to our farmhouse thus far. Heidi makes the best stuff & sells it in our store, The Found Cottage, & also in her Etsy shop [here]. What do you guys think about our thankful word art in our dining room? I’m a little obsessed & it & it means even more that it was made my a great friend. When we moved into this house something switched in me & I decorate more for meaning now & not for “likes” or for anyone else & that feels good to live in a house with meaning where everything is a reminder of someone or something that you love. Do you have word art in your home? What is your favorite word to display? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & for sharing it with your friends & family.. it means so much to me! xx

I have several reminders of living with Grace in my entry and living room.
“grace changes everything” and “live each day with God, grace & gratitude” are just two of them, Love everything about your dining room.
Your sign is beautiful. We have “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” in vinyl letters on our wall.
