I shouldn’t call this a makeover because I liked the mora clock as I got it. I really did. I kept it in it’s original beauty for a year, but in my normal fashion I was craving change & a new spot for the clock. After some thinking I decided that I didn’t want the mora clock [here] in our sunroom any longer & wanted to try it in our dining room instead. The thing about putting it in our dining room? The blue/gray just wasn’t going to cut it. Not with all the chippy white vibes that are in the space. So, I went to my handy paint cupboard & looked for a color that would work. I found this a la mode color by Maison Blanche [here] in their lime paint & thought it would be the perfect creamy white for my mora clock…
Here was the clock before in our sunroom…
& now in a new room with a fresh coat of paint…
I simply painted the clock with two layers of the french lime paint & allowed it to dry. I then took a sanding block and distressed the parts that were white prior to me painting it. It was that easy. I wanted the clock to stand out in the room, but also not be the main focus or any kind of focal point which I think panting it this creamy white achieved. Over time I might distress it more, but I’m loving this finish for now. I couldn’t pick up the distressing in the photos that well, but to me in person it looks more distressed & aged.
I think the clock is the perfect addition to our dining room & is just one more accessory closer to this room being complete. I feel like this clock belongs here at The White Cottage Farm just perfectly now. I’m also really excited about this Maison Blanche Lime Paint. I have used this formula before, but forgot how amazing it is to work with. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must for sure. Let me know what you think of the newly painted mora clock in the comments below, on Facebook, or find me on Instagram. Thank you as always for stopping by my little blog!! xx
