You know I love to go all out for Christmas. Sometimes too much [if that is a thing]. This year as we approached Christmas in our new farmhouse, I was so excited to decorate for the holidays. As we got closer to the time to decorate for christmas though I realized it might prove to be difficult because 90% of our house is under construction. But since I am a lover of Christmas & I couldn’t let the first christmas in our 1800’s farmhouse pass without decorating at least a little bit, you know I decorated the rooms that are livable like our sunroom. But I went simple, so simple that I even kept our christmas trees nude…
So neutral and cozy.. just how I like it. Honestly, I’ve said it before, but being forced to go super simple on our Christmas decor. It’s kind of nice resting and taking it easy. Not stressing over tons of ornaments on the tree was kind of peaceful in a way, & our nude trees from King of Christmas are super pretty even without the fluff. I stuck the trees in some antique crocks & placed a drop cloth on the floor around them. Super simple & cheap….
To make this room extra cozy I added tons of texture on the sofa with various white pillows that I have collected from Anthropologie [here], Target [here], Wayfair [here], Ikea, Farmhouse box [here], & Home Goods. I also added a special christmas pillow from my good friend Fabric Scout that I will treasure forever. In the window above the sofa I placed some vintage metal dishes with white bottle trees in them & a wreath above. I am adding mirror into this salvaged window frame, but have not gotten to that yet.. I think it’s going to be so pretty though! On the coffee table I placed a black tray also in my Painted Fox collection along with a bucket of winter greens from Home Goods & some antique corbel finds of mine & some pom garland.
The dresser in the room is my favorite addition to this space recently. It was an antique find that I blogged about [here]. On the dresser I hung some stockings from wayfair with some garland that I picked up at Michaels. On the dresser I have a lamp from my collection at Painted Fox & a vintage typewriter. I also placed a bucket of Christmas trees that I picked up at HomeGoods that I am quite obsessed with. The black lamp, gold bells and gold deer are all Target finds & I loved that they looked actually vintage. Great finds!
This room has always been a favorite of mine since we moved in 6 months ago because it’s the sunniest spot in the house. The perfect napping room, & has a great view of the farm. Now that it’s decorated for christmas I never want to take it down. I love the simplicity of it all. What do you think? Love all of the frosted greens! Makes me want to cozy right on in! And the Christmas Michigan pillow!? I think I need that one as a little reminder. Is it available online somewhere? Thanks! Keep up the great work <3
Liz, each picture is so warm and cozy and I just want to bundle up in each room.
I love the simplicity of the “Grateful” pillow on your chase lounge. Is it for sale somewhere?
Did you make it?
I found links to many of the items and purchased a few already. Can’t wait to bring a little of this décor to my own home!!
Beautiful, as always! May I ask, did you create the lamp shade for the floor lamp that’s pictured near the Christmas trees? If so, would you care to share how you did it?
You’re so talented and such an inspiration.
That is really, really pretty! ? Love all the texture.
Such a beautiful and cozy space, Liz! I love it! I would be in the room all the time, working on my blog, reading a good book, taking a nap, or two! 🙂
Merry Christmas, friend!
I’ve got to ask where you found the floor lamp?! Love it, and the lampshade, too!☺️
