I was talking to my friend Abby tonight from Binks & the Bad Housewife as we were setting up our shop for the holiday open house this weekend & I was telling her the tonight I was going to blog the DIY farmhouse style buffet that Jose just built. She asked me if I was going to share the tutorial on how to make one & I then told her that Jose was going to do that on his blog, Craftsmandrive.com, & that I was just showing off some photos that i took of it because I was so proud of his amazing work… Her response to that? She said “Well, I guess it’s a tutorial on how to pick an amazing husband.” haha I laughed so hard at that comment. It’s the truth, Jose is amazing in so many ways. So ladies, find yourself a man that will make you proud.
Seriously.. isn’t it beautiful? Most of the time Jose will just go in his workshop to build something & I have no idea what he’s building until he comes to get me to surprise me. That was what happened with this piece as well… My first response when I saw it? “How did you paint this?! It’s gorgeous.” In true Jose fashion he just looked at me and smiled and shrugged. Always a humble man he never really thinks anything he does is too great. I wish he saw what I saw.
Jose shared how to build this DIY farmhouse style buffet & how he got this look on his blog today [here]. I was reminded of a few other reasons I was proud of him this week as it was the Marine Corps 241st birthday & veterans day. Jose is a Marine Corps Veteran & I am so thankful for him and the sacrifices he has made for his family & his country. I seriously couldn’t be more proud of the man that he is. I didn’t really intend for this post to be me gushing about my husband, but as I sit here and type it’s all I am thinking about. He’s quite the guy.
Above this piece I hung some art from CottonWood Shanty [here]. I don’t know how I lived without her scroll art for so long, but I think I always have to have one of these hanging in our farmhouse at all times. I also got one for our Christmas decor that I will be sharing later. I’m obsessed! Most of the other items on the buffet are vintage finds, but those lamps are from Target along with the round basket. The clock is from my collection at Painted Fox [here] & I blogged how I gave it a little makeover [here].
I’m so in love with this piece that Jose built & it’s undecided if it will stay here in the farmhouse or go to the store. With the majority of our home unfinished it’s hard to know if we should keep a piece or sell it. In these photos I styled it in our front living room near the entryway [hence why the floors looked so unfinished, because they are] & I kind of love it here. Stay tuned to see where it ends up. this piece would make an amazing TV stand, Entryway table, sofa table, dining room buffet, kitchen island, & so much more. What would you use it as? Let me know what you think of it in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Be sure to head to Jose’s blog [here] & see how he made it & also show him some love! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!! xx
It’s so beautiful to see love in a marriage. I love it that you gush about your man. You two make such a sweet and inspiring couple! And I love the buffet he built too. Just gorgeous. I’m loving to see the progress you’re making on your home. You have such a good eye. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a simple yet chic piece! The possibilities are endless. You could put your favorite books in those wire baskets, that would be lovely too. Or, how great would that look in a bedroom as an accessory table, purses and jewelry displayed, he really should make some of these for the store!!
I could find a million ways to use that! Coffee bar/buffet in a dining room, book case for sun room or office, storage for kids toys and books, endless possibilities! Will definitely be checking out his blog for the tutorial. And of course you styled it beautifully! Love your eye. Thanks for sharing! xo
