I’ve said it before, but I will keep saying it so I’m sorry in advance. It’s been so strange decorating for the seasons in our farmhouse that we have lived in now for 6 months. It’s been strange for a few reasons. One because the house is in complete demolition mode like the flooring ripped up, every room being unfinished, & decor on an unfinished space just has a different look. Two because it’s a new place for me to decorate. Last year we were in our 80’s tai-level & this year we are in our fixerupper 1800’s farmhouse. Who saw this coming? Not me! This holiday season I’m excited to share our farmhouse with guests even if the rooms are all under construction so I decided to go all out for Christmas in the rooms that were somewhat presentable [meaning there are no holes in the floors in these rooms.. normal right?] starting with the dining room…
For this space I teamed up with some of my blogging friends & HomeGoods to style a cozy Christmas space. Every single year no matter what I always end up at HomeGoods for my holiday decor & this year was no different. I can always find the best deals and super unique items that I can’t find anywhere else. Even before I teamed up with my blogger friends to decorate our dining rooms your girl was stopping at HomeGoods the day they put our their Christmas stuff even though it was still 70 degrees out. For this space I wanted it to be rustic but with touches of metal and sparkle for that glam factor. First I found some small faux Christmas trees at HomeGoods & placed them in some rusty old sap buckets I found to create the focal point of our table centerpiece. I really wanted the dining room to reflect the rustic farmhouse vibe that our house has so I mixed a lot of rustic textures with the small stick trees, rustic stick wreaths, & a dash of glam with the mercury glass ornaments all finds from HomeGoods. I mixed fur, glam metals, & rustic elements for a fun rustic glam look.
Ok, this might possibly be my favorite Christmas space that I have ever done before. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s the only semi-finished space in our entire farmhouse or if it’s the mix of rustic & glam, but I am truly enjoy this room & overtime I walk through this space which is a lot because it’s in the center of our home, I can’t help but smile. & with those chandies on at night? It’s truly a dream come true! One of my favorite glam items in the whole space are these sparkly “peace” pillows that I found at HomeGoods.. so good I had to grab two! All the small trees in this space on the floor, table, & stools were all HomeGoods finds and even though they are all different they work well together in this space. You can never have too many Christmas trees right?
Seriously how awesome are all these wreaths? If I can recommend going to HomeGoods for ONE thing it would be the amazing selection of wreaths.. that extra large flocked stick wreath above the fireplace mantel is my absolute favorite. Another wonderful find? Birch log bundles.. can you believe it? So random, but perfect for my rustic glam room. I’m also never a faux fur kind of girl, but I think these fur pillows from HomeGoods finish this space off just right. The ornament garland was another great HomeGoods find & also that great bucket with birch and winter greens.
Seriously I can’t wait to entertain here this winter & host our family and friends in our cozy dining room. I’m so glad that the holidays gave me the excuse to decorate our unfinished dining room so that I could get a glimpse into what our home will look like once we get farther on our renovations. I hope in some small way that our space shows you that you can decorate for the holidays even with partially finished rooms & that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. I really wanted to share the holiday love today so I will be giving $100 to HomeGoods away to one of you so that you can bring some holiday cheer to your home this season. All you have to do is share a photo from his blog post on Instagram & tag me @LizMarieGalvan on Instagram [here] & be sure to tag me in the actual photo to so I can find you. I will be choosing one person & sending you the gift card so you can go get your retail therapy on. & for the love, go and get one of these amazing wreaths they have! That’s it.. can’t wait to pick the winner! Now head on over to all my blogging friends dining rooms to see what they are up to in their homes this holiday season…

Liz Marie, I love the way you decorated your dining room. I really love your big white clock. Do you know what the name of a clock like yours is? Did you paint it white or did it come that way. Have a Merry Christmas. Thanks.
