Happy Monday friends! I had such a great weekend that ended with quite an eventful night. After going picking all day with my pal Abby I was heading home tonight in the snow… and oh my gosh the roads were awful. It was the first real snow of the season so it was pretty crazy as is. The highways were a maximum speed of 30, accidents everywhere, and I almost cried the whole way as I gripped the wheel and prayed. It was intense. But as soon as pulled in the driveway to our farm and saw the lights on the snow I was in awe of the beauty of it all…
Seriously.. we have so much work to do on our fixer upper farmhouse, but a blanket of snow really covers all that up quite nicely. Another fun thing this weekend was that Jose brought two amazing planter boxes on the front porch that he built & I absolutely love them. I didn’t have time to style them so for now I just stuck two of our porch Christmas trees in them to show you what they look like…
Jose quickly whipped up these boxes for our porch, but of course I never have a plan so I’m not quite sure where they will end up or how we will style them, but they are cute aren’t they? Jose shared how he made them & painted them over on his blog: thewhitecottagefarm.com [HERE]. He tells me they were pretty easy and fun to build which is cool because I think I need three more for the idea that I have… oops!
You know I will be keeping you updated on where these planter boxes end up on the farm and how we style them. They would be so great framing a door, on porch steps, by garage doors, & so much more. Be sure to visit Jose’s blog [here] & check out how he made them & let us know if you end up making some for your home! Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog today & for always supporting us with through all our DIY & fixer upper journey updates. Be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram to follow along more. xx

I have two dwarf alberta spruce flanking my front stoop. They toppled over from the heavy winds and now one of their clay pots is cracked. I was thinking of moving them into a square planter so that the wind won’t knock them down again. For now, they are in my backyard sheltered from the wind. I’m so sad too because they were expensive glazed pots. I’m hoping they will survive the winter so that when spring comes I can move them into planter boxes like these that Jose made.
