I always blog Monday-Friday because I love sharing updates here & it truly makes me happy. I was going to take this Monday off for the Memorial Day Holiday, but couldn’t be quiet or not say something here on the blog today about Memorial day as I sit here next to my veteran husband. I am so passionate about our wonderful country & the wonderful men & women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could enjoy this beautiful country we call home & of course nothing I say could show my appreciation enough, but it’s better than saying nothing I guess…
Here on the Farm we love showing our pride for our country by flying the flag high on the flag pole in front of our house & hanging flags wherever we can elsewhere. Though Memorial Day isn’t about Jose because we are remembering the fallen men and women in the military, we still do all that we can to honor those men and women here on the farm & I’m so proud of Jose for doing all he can to honor those men and women & the country he bravely defended. Memorial day is a great time to remember & appreciate why we live so freely in this beautiful country of ours & that that appreciation should bleed into our daily lives.
Jose will be doing a whole post over on our farm blog soon talking about proper flag flying & how to retire old flags. It truly fascinates me all he knows about the American flag & how to care for it. But for now, I hung this antique flag of mine on our porch & of course our dogs got in on the patriotic action. I guess all I’m saying is that there is no way I can show how much gratitude that I have for all those men and women who defended us to the death, but I can show my gratitude in little ways daily, & I’m forever grateful. Thank you so much to the men and women who gave it all & to the families of those fallen military personnel. Thank you. xx
