Can you believe we moved in to our home here on White Cottage Farm 1 year ago today?! How is that even real? As I sit here typing I don’t even know where to begin. It just doesn’t even seem possible. One year ago today Jose and I were coming home from a weekend up north & we were about to spend the entire week moving from our “Cottage on Tyler” home into our dream farm home. Our forever home. Ever since that day we have been tearing up our home room by room & re-doing al the spaces. In fact, we don’t even have a kitchen right now. Well, technically we do.. our laundry room is a second kitchen, but it’s not in a great state at the moment. Pretty much our house is a mess right now, & there isn’t one room that’s finished, but we are making do as we re-do each space & temporarily decorating rooms because Lord knows I can’t live with the entire house being a mess. So, today I thought I would share with you a “before” photo and a progress photo of a few of the rooms in our home one year later. I still can’t believe it’s been a year! Time flies when you buy a farm I guess…

There are also a bunch more rooms like the laundry room, two bathrooms downstairs, the entryway hallway, the upstairs guest bedroom, the downstairs guest bedroom, our master bedroom, master bathroom, sunroom, kitchen, & more that I didn’t show today, but get excited because they will all be projects we will hopefully be starting & finishing [some]. There is about 4,200 square feet of house in this 1800’s farmhouse & I only showed you about half of that today… more before & afters coming very soon! I did a video tour of our house when we moved in [HERE] that you can watch to get a feel for the house. I also started a new series called “White Cottage Farm – The Unseen Footage” that I am sharing rooms around the home I never showed you guys that we haven’t started working on but that I thought you might like seeing… you can see the first two unseen footage posts [here] & [here]. As many of you know, I blog daily here about our farmhouse & things going on here. Stop back daily to see what we are up to because I literally only scratched the surface in today’s blog post. One year later we’ve added some cats, bees, & soon to be sheep to our farm, we have done a million projects, worked hard on the lawn, & tried to adjust to farm life as well as possible. It’s not an easy life always, but it’s rewarding to say the least & we wouldn’t trade it for the world. We are so thankful for White Cottage Farm & how it has blessed us so much. Thank you guys so much for stopping by daily to check on us here & for following our farmhouse journey. It means so much to me! xx
Ps. Did you know we have a blog for our farm? Jose mainly blogs there with his DIY projects, animal updates, & more coming soon! You can find the blog [HERE].
Congrats-congrats! So happy to see the progress you’ve made. You guys are amazing! I have a little surprise I got a year ago for you. Will send it your way now that you have a P.O. box. Happy everything!
Oh please, please, please share where you got the gorgeous floral curtains in your living room:) I can’t believe all you’ve accomplished in just one year. Congratulations! LOVE your store, btw.
Yes! The floral curtains! Such a nice unexpected touch! Love them and your farmhouse!
Wow. Your home is gorgeous. The before and after pics highlight how you were able to turn your vision into a beautiful reality. Just stunning. Your work has totally paid off. Great job!
Where did you get the jute rug?
I cannot believe how much you’ve accomplished! Very lovely, comfortable, homey. I’m still coveting your round church sign and love the spot you’ve chosen for it!
Hi Liz,
Do give readers sources for all of your beautiful stuff? For example, I’d like to know where you got the upholstered chair at the end of your dining table. And you have a large burlap colored pillow with a sheep on it in one of your sitting areas. There are so many other pieces I’d like to ask you about, also.
Thank you!
Wow! I loved the Victorian look of the farmhouse before, but the “White Cottage” decor is amazing! I am so glad that I found you on Pinterest and I will definitely be reading and awaiting all your upcoming redos. Beautiful!
Beautiful home. We are in the middle of turning our home into a farm style home. We purchased a foreclosure about 6 months ago and have pretty much gutted it. Our kitchen at this point consists of a microwave and electric skillet.
Would love to know where you got your dining room table from.
