Yes, it’s a thing. I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for a new slipcover for our Ikea sofas. Yes, of course I could just go to Ikea & buy one, but I wanted more options. That’s when after a google search [about a year ago, but hello big move to the farm & I forgot about it] brought me to Bemz.Com where they make custom slipcovers for all Ikea furniture…. hello, life changer!! I blogged a while back [HERE] when I got my fabric samples in the mail which is super helpful that they send you the fabric samples because it really helps the decision making process. I started with the sectional in our back living room because it is used the most & truly needed a little pick me up…
Ok, I know what you are thinking. Liz, you could have got a white slipcover at Ikea. Yes, you are right I could have, but it’s not the same. It’s a completely different fabric & you get to choose your fabric. So, I went with the Belgian linen… the texture is amazing & it adds a whole new element to this room. The one disappointment for me was that I couldn’t get a pure linen blend for this sofa because it’s not made for the sectional, so I will be doing that on other sofas in our home for sure! But the belgian linen was my second choice & I’m actually super happy we went with it for this sofa for a few reasons. It’s durable, doesn’t wrinkle like a pure linen would, super thick & sturdy which helps the structure of the sofa look like new, & is a little more loose so it’s easy to put the cushions in the slipcover.
These pillows [white linen, blue & white stripe, & small stripe pillows] are also from Bemz. I just recovered other Ikea pillows I had with the new cushion covers & they brought a whole new fresh look to the area. When I say this website is my new addiction.. I’m not even kidding. The slipcover & the pillows gave this little area in our home a makeover & it’s making me so happy. Even though we technically haven’t started on this room makeover yet, it’s one of the only rooms in the whole house that isn’t in demo mode so its truly an escape for us.
There are 250+ fabric choices from velvets to linens to patterns to textures. Yes, there is something for everyone. Seriously the fabric options are endless & if you aren’t a white sofa person or a linen person they have you covered with some exciting choices. They also have curtains, pillows, mattress covers, bean bag covers, bedspreads & much much more..
Here is the screen you get when you select your Ikea piece of furniture you want a cover for & you can test the samples on it. Super easy to use & super fun to play around with:
Ps. Check out Lesley Pennington’s, Bemz Founder, cottage & Bemz slipcover…
I could go on, but you get the idea. This site is awesome. Also, the prices though they seem high, they are comparable and most of the time less than having someone make you a slipcover [unless you can do it yourself… I love & respect all of you who are patient enough to do that]. Shipping was super quick, and I am super happy with the slipcover & the pillows so far. So much so that I am going to go order dining chair covers right now for our dining room chairs. Can’t wait to show you what I pick! Bemz was so kind enough to offer 15% off your order [apparently they hardly ever offer that high of a discount so if you are thinking of order I would place your order asap!] Use code lizmarie15 for a discount [and no I’m making no money off of this… just got a discount for you guys because I love you.] You also get 5 free fabric samples to test out in your home before you purchase. Let me know what you guys think of this awesome concept & if you plan to order one, I would LOVE to see what you pick! Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook & chat with me on Instagram! Thank you as always for stopping by this little blog of mine.. it means the world to me! xx
*I worked with Bemz on this post, but was in no way paid for my opinion & all reviews and styling is my very own.
I love slipcovered furniture. So comfortable looking. I love this room.
Absolutely beautiful! This room would be my happy place. The work that you and your husband do is so inspiring. Blessings to you both, always.
I discovered Bemz two or three years ago when looking at the Ektorp. I’m an obessed Googler when I have free time and always search for weird stuff. I am not friends with my sewing machine and needed a slipcoverdesperately for my dog drool stained office chair. So the slipcover search took me to Bemz. Eureka! I now have an endless supply of slips for my little Jenny Lund reading chair in my office. Life changer!
I love how your couch turned out, Liz! I love slipcovers; they are so pretty!
I just have to ask where you got the dog bed cushion from, it’s adorable!
