Finally! We decided on a paint color for the downstairs guest bedroom. Now, that doesn’t mean that I’ve chosen a paint or stain for the rest of the lower level, but baby steps right? The guest room is still under construction, but when was the last time I waited for anything? Or did anything in order? Never. I’m getting so excited about this room & having the floors painted now is making me even more excited to get this project done even though on the grand scale of our fixer upper, it’s very minimal. I think this room will be a huge motivation for us…
Here was the room when we installed the flooring…
& a terrible photo of the painted floors…
We went with Farrow & Ball Lime White & so far I’m a little obsessed with the color. It’s kind of a bad time to show you because the walls aren’t painted yet, but I think you get the idea. I’m also always going to struggle with the lighting in this space with only one very small window & in these photos the sun was setting so the lighting was very gold, but I truly hope you can see the progress. I have some very special plans for this room & I CAN’T WAIT to share with you the new direction we are going in here. I won’t spill the details just yet, but I think you will all love the new direction we are going in this space… & It’s all thanks to Mr. LMB & how smart he is. I will take no credit for it, but more on that later.
Ok, I promise to take better photos soon. But that floor paint though? I love how it’s coming out! We used Behr porch & floor paint in Farrow & Ball lime white [two coats] & we finished it with Pro finisher polyurethane [water based in satin]. We picked up all of these items at Home Depot & so far we are so happy with the results. Of course you guys will get updates on how it wares over time, but so far so good! Now, let’s get moving on this room because I am SO READY to have one little finished corner of this house.. just one, that’s all I’m asking. THANK YOU guys so much for stopping by the blog today & for alway following us on our fixer upper journey of our 1800’s farmhouse. xx
I like very much. Looks good to me.
I love it! I’m betting the color will wear well. What a sweet little room; I cannot wait to see how you’ll use it.
Oh, it’s beautiful! The flooring will be the perfect setting for whatever else you have planned! (What wood did you use for the flooring?)
beautiful!
Hi Liz
I love your flooring! Do you mind me asking what you used? What type of wood and size? Thanks for your time.
Wendy
Love what you did ………we took the carpet up in the living room …….8 years old and my son’s allergies were getting worse ……….so he painted them grey , love them now
Love it! Where is that clock from!?
Love your painted floor Liz! Would you mind sharing with me if you brushed or rolled, rolled and back brushed ? I’ve always used oil in the past but when doing a large area the fumes really get to you and want to try latex for both the ease of clean up and the fumes that darned near tip you over! Thank you in advance for your response and a BIG Thank you for the best blog site ever?
I really loved this!!
Such a great improvement!
