Another weekend gone already? So sad. Honestly I’m actually really sad tonight as I type this because I hate to see this weekend go. Life has been a little crazy & a little stressful these days [more on that later] so I truly savor every single second I selfishly get to hold on to Jose while we can. This weekend was filled with a lot of other things besides DIY at our farmhouse like adding to our flock of sheep, spending a day in Holland Michigan doing a little Mercantile Market work & a little leisure, & also just resting. During stressful times I find that we sleep in more & I don’t hate it. But this post is all about the DIY of the weekend so let’s just get a little recap of what we did this weekend…
First I finally painted some pieces in our house. I didn’t get them quite finished, but I started painting a little dresser in our front living room & the sofa table that Jose made last weekend out of an antique store counter. I will blog both pieces very soon when they are done, but I’m loving the milk paint we have been using from Sweet Pickins’ and you NEED to smell the furniture wax in her line… it’s cinnamon heaven! More on that later.
The entryway bathroom! I know it looks like a mess now, but this is progress folks & it’s beautiful! We finally started doing more work in that space. In fact there is a lot more done than what this photo shows as well. We have a mirror hung & something more done with the floor. It’s still a hot mess, but coming along finally. I’m ordering the bathroom light tonight & once that is in & we get all the finishing touches done I will blog the full before and after of the entire space. This project has taken forever, but it will be so worth it in the end!
We got some more work done in the office! Another project that has taken us quite a long time, but that’s ok. Slowly but surely we are making this a room that is efficient & inspiring to be in. This weekend we moved two new [very old] pieces of furniture in to make this space more of an office with lots of storage. One of the pieces is a pine cupboard that I will be toning down a little bit with help from some oil that i’ll be explaining more of later. The other is my large card catalog that I’ve had since we lived in North Carolina. It needs A LOT of work from being moved so many times, but it looks great in here. See our latest office update post [HERE]
I also moved & shifted some things around the house that were just sitting in piles places. My new motto is just to make “pretty messes” everywhere. If a room isn’t done.. that’s fine. I’m not going to pile things up anymore. I’m going to make it temporarily pretty by styling all the random things together & that will be my life. It makes living in a total fixer upper a whole lot easier.. you should try it! I had these windows sitting around & all of this other stuff in a pile nearby so I made a little vignette in the corner of our front living room. It works for now & I’m cool with that.
Not a terribly productive weekend besides us adding two more sheep to our farm, doing a ton of yard work, and a ton of work for our upcoming mercantile market. But I have some exciting things planned for this week at the house so stay tuned for those. Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog & for always supporting my little blog, I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you stop by the blog daily. I hope you just know the it means a lot. Be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram for all the behind the scenes. xx
Your home is so lovely. Its funny how I feel like you are living the kind of life I would love. You are much younger than I but I have always wanted the farm house and the store. I don’t have the farm but I do have 3 lovely boys. 22 and twin 14year olds. The gap in the age is 7 angel babies. But it has all turned out the way it was suppose to. Everything has always come later to me. Marriage, kids, and even a little vintage antique shop I co-own with a friend. Our lives are just kind of in reverse. I truly feel in my heart that God will fulfill your wish of children. You have time. Be strong and enjoy your life with Jose for now. It will come. ;). I follow you on instagram. My shop is called Shop-Eras. We are only 6 months old and evolving. God’s speed for your wishes.

Love how your office is coming together. Especially love your card catalog, rug and lovely new light fixture. The room is looking pretty completed, which has to be an encouragement.
And I really loved your idea of putting the components that are sitting around into vignettes, right on the spot, so you can enjoy them while they await their more permanent placements. Great idea, and such a positive.
Blessings.
I love the weekend updates!! I follow along on Insta too, so it’s fun to get the blog recap! Sounds like a pretty productive weekend to me!!!
Hey sweet girl!! Thanks for sharing your updates. That bathroom ? It is already looking fabulous!! I love the black/white theme and what you did with the sink! I’ll be honest… when I saw that turquoise color I thought to myself… “what will Liz Marie do with that” ?? It’s perfect and makes the space!! Have a wonderful week!! Prayers for Miss Grace.. hopefully tomorrow her and the boys will have bonded a bit ?
The bathroom is looking adorable! What a great idea with the sign. So I’m thinking black and white diamonds painted on the floor…. I have always wanted to do that somewhere.
Love ❤ reading your blogs and seeing your Instagram videos, I look forward to it daily and actually I think I live vicariously through you, thank you for sharing…..hope Grace is adjusting to the boys ?

Thank you for share all your lives with us out here. My prayers are with you.
May God bless you, darling woman…,you have such a tender, mercy heart, and I know our God is doing something good and powerful in you. Keep those eyes fixed on the Author and Perfectir of your faith; He is always with you!❤️❤️?
Your home is so beautiful…
That bathroom? My dream sink!! I love a black and white pallet for bathrooms and kitchens. God bless you and your home and your little farm.
Where on earth did you find that card catologue??? Oh goodness..I couldn’t have one quite that big, but what I wouldn’t give to find one of those! I just recently found your blog, and you have inspired me. I adore your home, but to be honest the inspiration was a bit more on the spiritual side. After reading a little about you this morning something in my very soul told me that you and your husband will have a baby. After reading about your struggles, I immediately thought of Hannah and how strong her faith in the lord was and how she promised to dedicate her child to God. God is faithful..he keeps His promises. Your baby will find his or her way into your arms. God bless you and your husband. You have a beautiful family. And thank you 😉
