Our Office Is Finally Painted!!

I’ve been sharing sneak peeks of our office for the past few weeks, but I haven’t talked about the most important thing yet… the paint!! The office is not quite done yet, but when we painted the room it started to finally take shape & become the lovely, cozy office space that we had dreamed about. We partnered with Ace Hardware to paint this space & honestly it was the best decision we have made because of one simple yet very important word… convenient. I always think of other hardware stores that are kind of a hike for us from our farm, but working with Ace on this project has proved to us that the local Ace Hardware that is super close to our farm really has it all for our DIY projects! This is a life changer.

 

 

Anyways, I was also hesitant to try different paint because I’m super picky, but I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings at Ace’s Paint Studio. Basically this partnership is off to a great start & so I felt super comfortable sharing it with you guys! I hope you know that I don’t share anything here on the blog that I don’t love or that I wouldn’t use myself & Clark+Kensington paint from Ace Hardware is a new favorite of both Jose & I which is saying a lot because we have used many many paint brands & we are adding this one to one of our favorites…

 

I had never used Clark+Kensington paint before, so I went into this project blind with no expectations because again, I’m a picky painter & I know what I like. We went into Ace to visit their Paint Studio, picked our paint colors out, & came home to get our paint on. You guys – I was in love with the first paint stroke! Jose’s first comment was “Wow this paint is thick!” & that was exactly it. The coverage was insane which is what I look for in paint. I’m all about the high coverage & the hiding power it has because these walls had a lot of marks on them from our construction & quite frankly I was too lazy to prime the walls beforehand. This paint also claims to be easily “cleanable” which I had to test for myself so after hitting a fly on the wall I cleaned it off the wall with a wet rag & it worked very well… haha not sure if that’s what they meant? But that was my test.

Ok, on to the paint colors because I know a lot of you were asking & I’m excited to share! You can view all their paint colors [HERE]. The top wall color is my new favorite taupe greige, Haven of Coziness. The shiplap color we used was Chalk. Honestly they are two of my new favorite “go-to” colors & I will be adding them to my paint portfolio for future projects. I love how cozy this paint makeover made the space & it really set the mood for our cozy & inspiring office makeover.

Don’t think that choosing this paint + color was a quick task…it took a lot of time and questions with the guys at Ace! After the experience, Jose & I actually wanted to send a note to our local Ace Hardware that we visited because the service was amazing. We showed up to the store minutes before closing and upon entering & seeing the hours posted on the door I apologized & said we would come back, but the young gentlemen at the counter insisted that we stay & was so helpful in picking out paint & everything else we needed for our project. He also told us about a cool new Extra Mile Promise Ace is offering, which is kind of unbelievable & to be honest I thought he was kidding at first. He basically explained that Ace Hardware employees are so expertly trained that their advice will help you successfully tackle your project with only one trip to the store, guaranteed. If something is forgotten or if you need anything else for your paint project, Ace Hardware will deliver your products to your home for free… yup, you read that right, free delivery! Isn’t that crazy? Well, needless to say I didn’t get to test that guarantee out because the Ace Hardware employee was so sweet & helpful. It was like no other hardware experience I have ever had. So thankful to have found a local hardware store to us that actually cares to help & who we can develop a relationship with through this whole fixer upper process.

 

 

So that’s it… our new painted office, a new favorite paint brand, & a new local hardware store. This project came with a lot of new things & we couldn’t be happier.
