It feels like a dream! As many of you know we tore apart our sunroom and kitchen last winter. Since then we have been dealing with leaks, ordering new windows and other items, waiting for builders, and so much more but the day has finally come that we have new windows in our sunroom. If you don’t know the layout of our house, the kitchen and the sunroom are basically one big room and there are 11 windows in the space all together that all had to be replaced due to leaks and age. It was a massive job that we didn’t want to take on ourselves and so we waited months to find the perfect builder and someone who wanted to take on this big task. There was a lot of rebuilding and repairing that needed to happen and also a lot of changes that we wanted to make in this week was finally the week that the transformation began…
Aren’t they beautiful?! I won’t go to much into detail today about them. I just wanted to show you a sneak peek of the new windows but I just couldn’t keep it a secret because this is such a huge step in us finally having our kitchen & sunroom after so many months. Let’s take a look at what it looked like before …
& now…
I will do a full before and after later when there is more progress, but I definitely wanted to share the crazy difference with you today. I can’t tell you how excited we are. This is one of the first major remodeling projects on this 1800s farmhouse of ours that is finally getting done and we are so excited. This is of course one of many big projects like this to come but we are taking baby steps and and doing it all little by little. But I have to say this makes me really excited to replace all the windows in the house. We choose Anderson 400 Series, Double Hung, White on White, with SDL Bars. I’m not a window person, but the quality in these windows are amazing.
We worked with West Michigan lumber and Anderson windows on this project and I have to say I am so happy we went with quality windows. We could have gone so many different routes with windows, but choosing top quality windows makes a huge difference and I for sure recommend looking into them for your future renovation projects. I can’t believe what a different windows can make in a space, & now matter how many times we do it I’m always amazed. If you are local to me I totally recommend checking out West Michigan lumber not only because my father works there & he’s a really cool guy, but because they’re really awesome to work with on building a new home or fixing up an old home. We still have a long ways to go on the sunroom in the kitchen but I feel like it’s going to start moving quicker now and I’m excited to share the whole process with you guys I’ll be back with more details on our windows and the progress very soon. What do you think of the new windows so far? Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog today and for always being a part of our fixer-upper journey it means the world to us.
The windows are gorgeous and they truely transform the space.
KUDOS! Those look amazing! We feel your pain, re: slow going on a re-do, as we are in year 4 of our Dutch colonial project. It’s a real morale boost to see progress, especially after waiting so long! We just did our front porch, + I’m thrilled! Keep up your good work!
They look great! Can’t wait to see the end results when you have everything painted, furniture and decorations in that cute space.
Ooh La La ! So nice…can’t wait to see what you do, it will be stunning
The windows are beautiful, such a transformation ❤ I too know the stress of renovation, we are on month 6 of a back yard redo getting our 2nd Tuff Shed put in today and than hardscape being put in before winter hits, we haven’t even started inside, waiting on contractors is the hardiest ugh……

They look wonderful and let in some great light. Great place to be in the winter, sun shining and freezing outside, cozy.
Just beautiful. You have such a cozy home filled with love!
LOVE the Windows. I cannot wait to see all this come together. The kitchen cabinets, the antique counter and just everything. Of course looking at the outside with those gorgeous windows, I see other window changes in the picture that I am sure will be coming in the future (wink, wink). Best to you this weekend at the Market!!!!
