When we started re-doing the tiny tiny bathroom in our entryway I knew that there wasn’t going to be many opportunities in that room to make a statement. I mean the room is maybe 5×5 if that so I knew it was going to be a new and exciting challenge. One of the ways I knew I would be able to make a statement in the room as you walk in the back door to our house was the lighting in the tiny bathroom. It’s something you see as you walk in the back door & by golly I was going to take that opportunity to add my style in there & we didn’t want to go with just a basic light so we headed to one of our favorite lighting sources, School House Electric…
After some deciding & debating between all the awesome options we decided on the Irvine Double Sconce in true black since we were really playing off the pops of black in the tiny space. We then added a little more black by choosing the black stripe bell shade. When we got it in I couldn’t believe what style this little light packed. Against the white walls I love how the black in the light stands out & pairs well with all the other black accents in the space. One con of this light was the glass shades… I was a little surprised that the two shades were a little different in thickness, color, & the black lines varied as well. I wrote it off as more the “antique charm” and you really couldn’t tell when it was up, but it was something I obscured & wanted to let you guys know that. Of course the light output is perfect for the space as well which is the most important part right? All in all.. great purchase!
The light as shown on the website with all of the close up details along with the glass shade that we chose…
This room isn’t quite done yet, but we are getting closer & we are able to use it now which is a huge plus. I’m really wanting to strip that antique mirror and clean it up more, but that is a project for another day. So happy with this School House Electric light that we purchased for the space & I have a feeling it will be one of many we will be making for our 1800’s farmhouse. I feel like all the lights they have compliment the age of our home & really add that antique vibe we love so much in our home. What do you think of our new bathroom light? Have you ever bought anything form School House Electric…what did you think? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today!!! xx

The simplicity of the light fixture does not detract from the art wall and folk art pieces you have in the room, which is nice. It is a fixture that could go with a lot of different decor options, as it doesn’t especially look old, nor new, but classic. Simple and plain in a room that has a lot of interesting things going on.
Okay. Of course, I love the light fixture, because Schoolhouse Electric Co. is wonderful! That gallery wall, though. Cue me, retrieving a hammer + nails + heading to our bathroom! TY for your inspiration! Constantly.
The light is absolutely perfect in the room! Love, love the gallery wall too. I agree, I think the mirror would look great stripped.
