I was making so many changes to the house, big & little, before BHG came last week. So many that I forgot you most of them. One of them being a lovely little plate wall in our dining room. I would love to take some credit for hanging this wall, but if you didn’t know I am married to an absolute perfectionist who is way better at hanging things than me [the first time] especially when it comes to hanging a bunch of little things. He also made a genius little tool to hang them all which I wanted to share with you guys today…
So, this plate wall is on one side of our lovely hutch in our dining room & I’m loving the texture it brought to this side of the room. Ok, so now on to how we made this plate wall work. I first started by getting the layout we wanted by laying them on the floor. After that we laid down some craft paper on the floor and then did the layout of the plates on top of the craft paper. After we had the final layout of the plates on the craft paper, we traced the plates on the craft paper, took the plates off the craft paper, & then hung the craft paper with all of the plate outlines on it on the wall. We use these plate hangers [here] so we hammered in the hangers at the top of each plate outline & then we were ready to rip the craft paper down & hang the plates… Super easy & the plates were exactly where they needed to be!
Simple little plate wall in the dining room & of course I’m the queen of wanting layers so I put some columns in front of the plate wall with some lovely little cottage plants that I’ve actually been remembering to water. Shocker! What do you guys think of the plate wall? Do you have one in your house? This is probably the 10th plate wall I have done in a house of ours.. I just like playing with plate walls. What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Can’t wait to hear from you guys! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today… it means the world to me! xx
Just beautiful Liz! I absolutely love the 3 columns also!

love the plates with the columns and greenery.
Looks really nice.
Ha! We did the same thing, except each plate’s paper tracing was cut out individually + then hung with masking tape until we got it right! I have blue + white plates on our bathroom wall. That sounds kookier than it is! 😉
I have a plate wall in the living room. I love it!
